Haven't been on for a while. I am still on oestrogen gel and vaginal.proesterone. over a year now. Apart from the sweata I feel.no better. I am in agony with pains all over. Thyroid is apparently fine. My mood is dreadful. I am so flat and have no life. Three years in and no one in the medical profession gives a damn apparently I am difficult to treat...there jas to be more to life than this I am only 48!! Struggling with two children 6 and 3. Even my lifelong friends r avoiding me I am so miserable . I swear I talk to random people in the street just to try to get someone with an answer. I have done cbt counselling ever supplement under the sun....nothing works or helps. Sorry jist needed someone to talk to or offer advice. Seriously something must work or this must get better this cant be it for the rest of my life :'(

Using testosterone gel has massively improved my mood. Even if I ache a bit the fact I don't feel low makes it bearable x

Thanks fir replying. I did have testosterone but only used it for a few months as I didnt feel any better. Perhaps I will try again. Thanks xx

Timkerbellj, how much vaginal progesterone are you taking? If you are on a high dose of Utrogestan for example, it could be that it is suppressing the positive effects of the oestrogen hence no symptom relief.
Considering your age, it could be a case of more Oestrogel and lower dose of progesterone being the answer.

Oh have a :bighug:
As oestrogen levels drop the muscles may become lax = aches and pains. So an over-the-counter medication should help. Maybe discuss with a local Pharmacist, they have private rooms these days. Take a list of your main pains and ask questions, making notes . Ask which OTC pain relief is appropriate, some push paracetamol but that never works for me!
How is your mood in reality? Low? Flying off the handle at the slightest thing? I am tired and really irritable in recent weeks, turns out I have a slightly low VitD level so maybe add it to your diet? I am often grumpy due to tiredness. GP has given me 3 month's supply of VitD capsules.
Diet? Eating little and often can help mood. 'me' time is important too.
Mary G has good advice. Also, maybe pay to see a Specialist so that you get over-all treatment for your symptoms rather than the try this and that attitude of many GPs. Do you keep a diary of mood/food/symptoms?

Thanks ladies. I am attending the meno clinic but the consultant said just play about with the dose yourself I so t know what to do with u anymore!I am on 3-4 pumps a day and 200mg progesterone every other month for seven days. I actually feel a bit better lately in the progesterone. .well anxiety wise anyway. But the higher dose oestrogen gives me cramps amd breast pain and really bloated so I often drop to two pumps. I have tried about six other types including patches and tablets. Nothing gices me relief. The fatique is dreadful. Mood low all the time and yes snappy and angry. I have just reordered my testosterone. Dont know wjat else to do. I can't even shower cuz the water hurts my skin and I am too tired anyway....

I would go back to 1 pump and see how you feel? What is the initial start-up recommended dose. Perhaps you have over-loaded your system with less benefit?

I would say the opposite to Mary G - it sounds like oestrogen could be too high - although that dose is given sometimes to suppress the cycle and therefore give relief. This doesn't appear to be happening with you though? However if you are not absorbing it then it could be too low - not sure how you would know this (whether too high or too low) as blood tests are unreliable. Doesn't sound like the prog is the problem since you are hardly taking any and on a long cycle - presumably your own cycle is providing the rest and you are still having monthly periods?
Did you ever try the CCP - there are two which contain estradiol, and therefore similar to HRT and have only a few tablet free days? Some gynaes prescribe this in peri-menopause. They are QLAIRA and ZOELY.
Sorry I can't be of more help...
