Title: Estrodot 75mcg
Post by: Diana on October 16, 2017, 11:08:09 AM
Hi, Has anyone else had problems getting Estrodot 75 patches?

I have been to several chemists with my prescription only to be
told today that they have been discontinued !
Waiting to speak to Dr on what other patches of the same strength
are on offer.

Regards
Diana

How annoying for you. I can't find anything online to suggest this patch has been discontinued.  :-\ Many of us on here are being rationed though eg I get mine from my practice in-house pharmacy and can only get one box at a time. Usually they have to phone to order them in - perhpas you could try another pharmacy and ask if they will order them?  It's a right pain and has been going on for some time. I can't understand why. I mean if they are becoming more popular surely they should increase production (and they would make more profit)? There was a thread on this and something to do with the companies that supply the drugs to the pharmacies rather than the manufactuer - or perhaps it's both? I'll try to find the thread and put the link.

All the other patches are listed here: https://www.menopausematters.co.uk/treatafter.php

You will see there are several other patches, but nothing else quite like estradot in terms of its small size.

Hi, Thank you for reply.

I have spoken to Doc this evening and she said they were discontinued. She has given me  a prescription for
Evorel 75..  Are these going to be the same as Estradot although probably going to be huge in size. I have been
doing great on Estradot and don't really want to change.

I went to several chemists and they all said the same; that the supplier informed them it had been discontinued. I persevered and found a chemist that contacted the manufacturer directly (rather than a supplier) and he was able to get me estrodot 75. However although the script is for 3 months they will only issue one month at a time and the chemist has to keep phoning the manufacturer to issue the next month.

Hi Diana  :)

When I wanted to find out about the problems I was having getting hold of Estradot earlier in the year, I contacted the manufacturer Novartis. They were really helpful - maybe worth giving them a call  :D

Hi

I'm not on the dot but another estradiol product and having problems with patch supply. I've not been able to get any for ages, luckily I had stockpiled some and eaking them out to one a week!

We have a website in oz about drugs in short supply and every couple of months they push the issue back a couple of months, has been going on a year now!!!! Will it ever get back to normal?

Consequently I now see that the oestrogen only patch is now in short supply because of the shortage of the other one!

It's very annoying messing around with our hormones when you have something that really suits you  >:(

We don't have a lot of choice here :( so its a total pain!
