Hi ladies,
Can anyone give me their experience of Kliogest? I had been on Femston 2/10 mg prior for many years and it suited me up until about 6 months ago but then I was experiencing terrible high anxiety/ panic attacks (ended up with Dr & he prescribed me Xantac, which helped ease the attacks - but he doesn't want to rely on these thus I'm only taking them when the attacks are really bad. I'm also experiencing sensitivity to normal noise - can't explain it properly but it's like normal everyday noise is magnified in my ears !!!!! Don't know if it's hormone/menopause related but it's effecting my everyday life .... sorry for the moany rant :(
Having been on Femeston 2/10mg & having an induced bleed monthly (which I prefer not to have, I'm 55 years old & still have my womg)) - I looked up HRT treatments on this site &printed out a list of continuous HRT types with the same level of Estrogen as in Femeston. to cut a long story short he prescribed Elleste Duet Conti but I discovered that it's not available in Ireland or not available through stockists with my pharmacy - don't know which is the case sof pharmacist suggested Kliogest as it has the same ingredients as Elleste Duet Conti - has anyone any experience with Kliogest - I have read that hair loss could be a side effect & also acid reflux - worried already & haven't even started taking them :-X

Looks like there is no-one visiting the forum who is on this one, However if you are changing progestogen ie from Femoston to Kliogest - ideally it would be preferable to change to a sequential one initially rather than straight to the conti - otherwise you won't be able to compare how you feel easily with both preparations since with conti HRT you are taking the progestogen all the time. Such a pity that you can't take Femoston on a continuous basis at the same dose to see if the hormonal stability works for you. I don't know why the 2 mg version is not available as a conti product.
At what point in your cycle did you experience these attacks/anxiety?
There are other options eg transdermal preparations - but I can see the simplicity of a tablet!

Thanks Hurdity,
I've started on Kliogest this week, I know it's too early to notice any benefits as of yet but I'm keeping an open mind and learning about transdermal types of HRT also as I have always had a sensitive stomach and the patches might be kinder on my digestive system.

By the way, has this site changed it's format? I can't seem to find the green tabs on top of the page like before ....... :-\

Hi there.
Have you got the right name? I haven't heard of this but I have heard of Kliovance/Kliofem?

Thanks Hurdity. It seems it's not a very popular brand ... I do think it's very similar to Kliofem. Although I'm only over a week taking it ..... I'm getting a throbbing ... Pulsating pain in my left side .... Think it's my ovary pulsating..... Hard to explain but also bad back pain ..... Similar to pain you experience from a kidney infection. I think I might opt back to my previous Hrt .... Femeston 2/10. Opted for a continuous Hrt so as not to have an induced bleed but my body doesn't seem to like Kliogest.
Yes Nissa.... It's definitely called Kliogest.
I thank all the lovely ladies on here .... This site has Been a godsend for support & information for me
