Hello I am a 50 year old peri menopausal female. I have tried 3 types of oral tablets on a sequi combination but unfortunately I have reacted badly to the progesterone type of all (PMT symtpons, bleeding, tearful, headaches, down etc) . Therefore my GP has advised I need to try a more localised form of Progesterone and I am booked in to get the Mirena coil in around 12 weeks time. In the meantime I have been prescribed to take Oestrodose gel every day and a Ultrogestan vaginal pessary for 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. Before I commence this interim regime until I get the coil I am really interested in peoples views and if anyone has experience of this combination? Or whether I should just go HRT free until I get my Mirena coil fitted? Views/advice/experiences really welcome please. Thank you :)

Hi I guess it depends how badly your Meno symptoms are. :-\
If it were me I would wait. I wouldn't want possibly to be worse but conversely you might settle and come off it to have mirena fitted, but that's just me. ;)

Thank you. Have you ever tried or heard of the Gel/Pessary combination? Thanks x

Yes many here use it,indeed I did for a while.

Yes great thread that one - very long with lots of info and experiences!
I'm the opposite of dazned - if it were me I wouldn't want to be without my HRT! Two weeks maybe but not 12. I stopped HRT 6 years ago, and after 3 months without it all my symptoms had come back - including ones I hadn't had before, so I went back on and stayed on it ever since.
Up to you of course - you might fancy trying this for a bit and see how you get on.... whatever you decide do let us know and how you are?
Hurdity x
