Had pelvic floor repair in May and bladder prolapse fixed, but unfortunately I forgot yesterday and picked my three year old grandson up. the pressure is dreadful now and i feel like my insides are about to fall out :'(. I am lucky enough to have doc apt for this afternoon but I really hope my bladder hasn't prolapsed again, I know I'm not supposed to lift but I totally forgot and am so angry with myself. I don't think I could cope with surgery again, If it is prolapsed again is there any alternative to surgery

Oh Yammy what a shame but it's so easy to do this sort of thing without thinking. It could just be that you have put a strain on the repair but not actually "broken" it. I would suggest sitting with your feet up as much as possible and definitely not picking up anything or pulling on anything both of which will put pressure on the repair. How long have you been doing more normal things?
Let us know how you get on at your appointment.

Are you using vagifem?
My urogynae prescribed this after my repair - it helps your connective tissues in the area to stay strong.

Also, it may be worth a referral to a gynae physio - you may have to pay to see someone if you want it quick though.

Ah yes - thanks dahliagirl. After my hysterectomy and anterior repair I was allowed back onto HRT at the age of 60 purely because I needed it to keep things strong. Also you do need to do the pelvic floor exercises religiously every day to help keep everything toned and strong and to prevent other parts prolapsing. Being a woman is such fun!!

thank you all I will let you know how doc apt goes. Hopefully its not too bad, I was back with surgeon two weeks ago for follow up and he was happy and said I could go 'back to normal' regarding exercise and housework, I wanted to tell him I havn't been 'normal' since this blooming menopause started :bat:but he's a mere man he would never understand

I doubt very much that you have undone the repair, I also had my uterus lifted many years back and I often get a tugging feeling that really hurts when moving or lifting heavy boxes, I think its just the scar tissue and the muscles objecting, you will be fine, I have to remind myself not to, the other day I was shoving my heavy bed over to clean underneath and felt the sharp pang again, you need to remember that the muscles etc will never be strong again after the surgery but I doubt any damage has been done, perhaps just an anti inflamatory for a day or so until the pulled area has recovered.

Well went to see doc today and happy to report no damage done, just gave me a stern warning about Lifting, I promised I won't be doing that again any time soon. Also my B12 injection so hopeful won't be feeling as tired and she wrote a prescription for hrt gel, not sure of the name as I had to leave it with chemist to be ordered, should have it tomorrow, all I know is it comes in sachets? Anyone else used sachets ?

Good News
Sandrena comes in sachets (it is like oestrogel).
If you are not sure about it, have a word with the pharmacist.

Good news Yammy1, what a relief for you. :D
