Who is the favourite in your house.
I don't think that Andy will be in the final this year. He won his match this afternoon but wasn't exactly tested. He is favouring that hip that's for sure.
So if he doesn't get through then who do you want to win.
I'm torn between Nadal and Federrer.
Oh and congratulations to Andy on him and Kim having another baby.
She looks radiant as usual.

Stan's my man but I doubt he will win. I like to watch him
play.
That young Alexander Bublik will be back in a few years, older, wiser, more mature and more honed - one of the next generation of winners :)
I don't think Andy can go the distance with that hip and neither should he. It could cause more damage to force it.
-
Oh >yawn< ;D
-
We could the same about cycling CLKD ;)
Stands out BJ. Don't think he was terribly well.
-
Wawrinka was put out at Queens first round too. He's a brilliant player when he's on form. My choice, excluding Andy, would be Federer, however he hasn't played an awful lot recently so may be rusty. Tsonga is good too. Don't get me wrong Nadal is good, but something about him I don't like, same with Djocovic.
-
If Murray doesn't win then I'd like Juan Martin del Potro to win, I really like watching him and I think he always seems a nice person when he's interviewed. Not keen on Djokovic.
Nothing wrong with cycling, it's cricket I can't watch, it must be the most boring game ever invented :o
-
Sshh don't let my son in law hear you Two hoots. A Scot who loves cricket! ;D
-
I know, I will miss
ogling watching Stan ::)
I just want to see some new blood coming up. Nadal and Federer have had their day over and over again, now that really does have the yawn factor for me :)
It will be interesting to see which women singles players come through this year as Serena is out this year, wishing her all the best with her new baby.
-
I think if Federer was to make it to final & win, it could possibly be his last time as he's really past his prime. His swan song possibly.
-
I do LOVE the autumn/winter series when tennis is played in the Albert Hall .........
Cricket I don't understand though I've done many a tea and watched many a game ::) as well as washing many a set of whites!
My friend went to Wimbledon yesterday and had a Very Good Day.

I reckon one Donald Young has found thousands of new fans. I'm 1st in the queue :ola: :ola: :ola:
It's good to see Rafa back and on form but he has had to go out there and WIN the match, Donald Young made him play it out.
I hope Federer wins and retires at the end of this season with the grace we all know he has in spades. Probably the best ever player in the world. Otherwise, I'm pretty relaxed about who does win Murray, yes please. But has he been playing mind games regarding his hip? Over to you all😸
-
He looked a bit stiff to me and not moving as well as he could.
I used to be a Federrer fan until I saw him loose his famous cool and tantrum like a two year old. Kind of lost respect for him at that point.
Nadal.....well that match between him and Federrer was the best tennis match I've ever seen and for me it's been Nadal ever since...,except when our Andy plays. The fact that my son looks like him also helps ::)

Best match I watched today was Johanna Konta. I honestly thought Murray v Brown would be similar, instead Murray just swept Brown aside. Don't get me wrong I'm pleased he's made it to 3rd round, but was looking forward to a nail biter of a game.

Oh I love tennis ladies, especially Wimbledon. I expect you're referring to the 2008 final Mrs B. We were on a ferry to Ireland watching the match with an engrossed crowd. We docked at the final game and unitedly refused to get off the ferry! They had to call security. I remember sitting in the car having to make do with listening to the radio broadcast. What a truly magnificent match! I love Nadal and Federer, one with the power and strength of a silverback and the other like an elegant panther. It is a joy to watch them play. However, of course I have to say I'd like Andy to win but if not I'd like to see Rafa make it this year.
-
Oh me too....I like Rafa.....just wish he would stop adjusting his bits before every point.
It's very distracting
;D ::)
-
;D ;D ;D
-
Now that little routine before his serve is really annoying actually, I want to slap his hand! He lifts his shirt shoulders, has a fiddle with his underpants, adjusts his bits, touches his face. it is a habit or a bit of OCD, really can't work it out at all. However, I watched his match tonight and I love the power of his game. I find with Andy I'm sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Johanna Konya had me bouncing up and down cheering for her. She could go all the way. Every grandslam winner has to win their first championship somewhere.
I kept cheering her and with wide open windows the neighbours must have wondered what on earth was going on :vibe: I should be so lucky.
Don't think Venus Williams is playing so well this year. With Serena out of action due to pregnancy, it's anyone's championships for the taking. Now, there's one baby who will want for nothing. Hope all goes well for Serena, her husband and their baby.
-
Johanna has a strange routine too before she serves. Twiddles racket in right hand & ball in her left.
-
It would have been good to see Murray through, but today he's been beaten by a better player. I'm glad I'm not one of Murray's entourage, I don't think his reactions are going to be pretty. Must admit hoping that the 1st set was going to set the tone of the match and am disappointed it didn't. Much as I don't believe in making excuses for a bad performance, I do think that something is definitely off with him today.
With Nadal out of the picture, I hoped very much to watch a magnificent Federera/Murray final. Oh well, maybe next year.
-
He was so obviously in pain today. His movements were very limited.
Such a shame.
All the British hopes are on Jo's shoulders now.
-
I think that even for me, who doesn't watch, the Match tomorrow will be really good! With Andy out, the Comp is open .......
-
Not a Federer fan - never have been. When he's interviewed, a self-satisfaction comes across that I find off-putting. :-\
-
So long as Djokovic doesn't win Wimbledon!
Andy was grimacing a lot today & holding his hip in between points. :'(
-
Sounds like me Cubagirl x
-
He won't win :P
-
Djokovic out. Had to retire. Shame because he's a good watch, if only for his antics.
-
What's the weather forecast for today? It's wet in Pau .......
-
I'm not sure I can watch today :o
I find tennis very stressful - the way it can be all over in one hit :-\
I didn't watch Andy yesterday and am glad. I will be watching Johanna, with the ironing as a distraction.
-
Johanna has a strange routine too before she serves. Twiddles racket in right hand & ball in her left.
I noticed that. She doesn't bounce the balls just moves her hand up and down. Very odd.
-
I'm curious. How does Venus sleep with her hairstyle? She must have half a tonne of pins to keep it up and secure.
-
She has a special mattress if the Adverts. are to be believed ::)
How's it going?
-
Oh dear :D
-
Such a shame and disappointment for Johanna. She's done Britain proud though.
-
They have met 5 times already ...... hopefully she won't be too disappointed!
-
To be honest, now that Andy M's out, I feel Wimbled-off! ::)
-
;D
Know what you mean Dulciana. Although I am watching Murray/Hingis in the mixed doubles.
-
The guard has changed.
-
Yep. Well done that Girl!
-
Love the men's tennis - especially Federer's grace & brilliance with such a huge variety of shots - no-one like him on court for riveting entertainment to my mind, but as mentioned by I think, Dulciana (sorry, meno-brain means I've lost the thread already), also sometimes find his interviews a bit disappointing. Was discussing this with OH last night, he wonders whether a cultural thing, by which he meant upbringing, but I thought perhaps drilled into players by sports psychologists, coaches etc. Perhaps as they are presumably coached to have unshakeable belief in themselves, this becomes so hard-wired that it isn't always switched off after a match & can come across as a bit arrogant. I liked that yesterday he mentioned that Cilic "smashed" him in a previous match though - bringing to attention past defeats seemed to show he knows he's not invincible & shows respect for other players.
Have always loved Rafa too & some of his interviews are endearing. Hate the on-court tantrums & found Murray's little one, not long into his final match, such a turn-off I was rooting for Querry!
