Title: Starting to get my life back together
Post by: edelweiss on June 25, 2017, 10:42:21 AM
As anyone who read my previous posts will know, I was in a terrible state, HRT had stopped working and consultants couldn't help, but I'm pleased to say I've been feeling quite a lot better recently.

Thanks to Alesia who introduced me, I've been seeing Claire Snowdon Darling and I've been coping better (I felt like I was dying all the time before). Claire has had her own health challenges and really under stands what it's like to have a non-standard and hormonal issues like some of us have. http://www.balancedwellness.co.uk

Her email is [email protected]

In 3 weeks the roof of my mouth has healed up, whereas before it felt like I'd burned it. It was red raw and broken skin before.

The bad taste in my mouth has gone. I was going to bed with mints in my mouth because I had such a vile taste.

I don't feel dizzy any more and I don't feel sick all the time.

I can take a nap in the afternoon whereas before I couldn't sleep AT ALL- I've had 4 so far. Today I napped for about an hour. This feels close to miraculous.

i can concentrate more at work, whereas before I was UTTERLY CONVINCED I'd lose my job.

Yesterday I went for a very long walk and got lots of fresh air. Before it was taking me until after lunch to get out of bed - if at all.

I am starting to think I might be able to get my life back. I'm so very grateful to Alesia for introducing me to Claire.

And a huge thanks to all of the wonderful ladies here too who have been so supportive throughout this awful, awful time.

If anyone wants to know more please DM me and I'll tell you. I think Claire does phone consults and helps women with diet and supplements over the phone.

Health-wise this has been by far the worst time of my life, but I have found such support. We are still working on things, but I hope that the improvement will continue. She's seen and treated a lot of meno and IBS ladies who have done very well.

I hope this helps some other ladies who need help at the moment xxx

Hi Edelweiss
Glad you are doing well. It's gives up all hope!
I think I'll be PM-ing you soon for some advice. Having a thyroid test soon and after that need will be need to consider my next step.

From your signature box, can I take it you are still on Tiblone?

HI Mis71mum, good luck with everything I wish you the very, very best. I stopped taking tibilone. I thought it might be helping at first, but it wasn't. I am not taking tibilone, or any form of HRT at the moment. My profile signature was out of date so I've changed it. As HRT had stopped working anyway, I don't notice any difference off HRT. xxx

Edelweiss thank you for this heartening post. I looked back over older DMs etc yesterday and emailed her with request for consult over the phone. I am so glad you are getting somewhere. This is by far the most dreadful thing I have ever faced - my sis said last night if I'd had a diagnosis of a condition I would have support and treatment and know exactly what I was dealing with (in most cases)- but this beast is so different for many of us and the support is simply not there for the the majority.
Tempest I am thinking of you and hoping you find something that works for you.
Edelweiss thank you once again - your message will give hope to so many who fear there is none - I wish you well

xx

Hi Edelweiss
Thank you. My emotional brain is trying to search for another condition that's causing me to be as I am. My wise mind knows its hormones.
Just out of interest, the lady you see, how does it work? Does she send you the supplements or does she tell you what you need to buy?
I take AD's so was wondering if there was interaction with the supplements.

Hello- I've had cbt counselling put in place by my work. The counsellor there has recommended a friend of hers in Edinburgh who runs a nutrition clinic and specialises in the menopause- apparently getting some great results with menopausal women. They do consultations over the phone I think and refer you to a supplement site where you can get discounts.
I've just found out about this today so I'm going to do a little more digging. If anyoyis interested, let me know and I'll pass on details x

Hi Mis71, the lady I see recommends the supplements, and I phone the suppler and buy them. She makes it very easy - all on a sheet with phone numbers and instructions. The suppliers are excellent very efficient. The whole thing is a breeze. The hardest part is remembering to take them 3 times a day! I'm off to see Claire again next week and am hoping to meet Alesia actually for real face-to-face *screams with excitement* xxx

Nice to hear from you and glad you are feeling better.  Many years ago when I was very unwell I saw a nutritionist and had various supplements prescribed.  I did feel a lot better for some time but unfortunately I was unable to cope with the financial commitment of paying for them and the consultations so I had to let it go.

Wishing you all the best with your ongoing treatment.  :)
