Title: Terrible burning and tingling tongue
Post by: Joesmum on June 06, 2017, 07:44:06 PM
Does anyone else have this symptom?
I know it can be hormone related and menopause related.
I wonder if my estrogen levels are too low?
Any thoughts?
I'm on EVOREL 50

Sorry to hear this. Have a search as I'm sure it's been mentioned before.

I've suffered with this on many occasions.  I tried lots of different remedies but in the end and by chance I discovered it was due to acid reflux rising up at night and burning my throat and tongue.  Try some Gaviscon last thing or ask your Gp for a course of Omeprazole tablets.  Oh and you don't have to be suffering from heartburn either to suffer from acid, hence the name silent reflux!

Joesmum- I have tingling - no burning- and partial loss of taste and smell. It's the estrogen I believe.

Hi Joesmum - have you heard of Burning Mouth Syndrome? You can read about it here http://www.ouh.nhs.uk/patient-guide/leaflets/files/110407burningmouth.pdf
