Here's a technical one for all you techno wizards out there!
How do I upload a photo onto a thread or PM please? Answers in layman's terms (for techno dummies!) I use an Apple Mac Book Air if that makes any difference. I've tried uploading a PDF and also dragging from my desktop but neither worked. I don't have problems uploading to emails.
Jenna and I need to exchange and compare photos of an azalea.

I think you have to upload your photo to an image hosting site first, then copy and paste the code into your post using the 'insert image' icon :-\

Yeah, you need to put a url in between these, they come up when you click on the insert image icon (below the bold one)

I have no idea what an image hosting site is BJ and as for an url well, I have no idea what that is either nearly50!

You could use something like photobucket http://photobucket.com/
to upload your picture, they'd give you a link and you'd put it in between these two and then post.

Thanks nearly50. Haha you must think I'm an even bigger technophobe than I am. I know what an URL is just didn't know it was called that!! ::) Might just exchange email addresses, it would be easier! X

There were details on here several years ago written by Poppyrose but I can't find the link. I know it involved photobucket .
Maybe Emma can help us after the holidays.

CLKD, Jenna and I are trying to compare our azaleas to see if they are the same. I have no idea what mine is called and she thinks it may well be the same as hers. xx

This is an easy way. Just go to the website (no need to sign in or anything like that):

Upload your photo and then copy the code from the 'Thumbnail for forums' and then paste it, just as it is, straight into your message.

Jenna it is so hard to tell as I think the colours are changed on screen. Yours looks redder to me. Can you see a closeup if you scroll in once you've clicked on the image and been taken to the site?

Thanks Elizabethrose, I can't take any of the credit ::) that goes to my husband and son, between them they grow about 50 dahlias a year. They are very colourful flowers in late summer but at the moment they have taken over the conservatory because we don't have room for a greenhouse ;D

Uploading photos to MM sounds far too tech-y for me. I wish I could do it but my brain freezes over, just reading how to do it. I envy you ladies who can do it and at this time of life, too ???!

If you look at the other thread....how to upload photos then there is a link posted to a very simple photo hosting site.
As long as your photos are on your computer then it really is easy.
Honestly, if I can do it then anyone can. I'm a very lazy tech type person as I've always relied on my hubby or son to do it for me.
Recently I've really wanted to figure it out for myself.
Have a look and give it a go. Two clicks and you are sorted

Make that 3 clicks Mrs B, as I didn't see the shrink photo button, hence very large photo of Elgin cathedral. ;D

If you go to any picture on a website, right click on it and choose Properties. The address is there in the pop up window. Copy and paste that into your message but you need to post [ IMG ] before it, and then [ /IMG ] after it and make sure there are no spaces. I added spaces between the brackets just to allow the coding to show up but you have to remove them. That should work.
