I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing Claireylou the very best for her hysterectomy tomorrow. I hope you've got the big pants packed, Claireylou! ;)
The gin and Toblerone will be waiting for you when you're out of recovery..... ;D
Much love,
Tempest xxxxx
-
All good wishes from me too Claireylou, I am sure all will go well and you'll feel like a new woman!!
Lots of love to you xx
-
This time tomorrow you will be relaxing on the comfy Recovery Couch.
Taz x :)
-
All the best for your operation. Remember there is a lot of internal healing to do so rest rest and rest xx
-
Good luck I'll be thinking of you xxxx💐
-
Best of luck :) Looking forward to hearing how you are when you are back on.
-
Oh, good luck from me too.
Hope it all goes really well for you.
We will all be sending positive thoughts in your direction.
Mrs Brown
-
Good luck claireylou, the good thing is the nurses can't stop us popping in for chats !
Rest up and take care of yourself
Remember the golden rule: there's no trophy for the quickest recovery but I'm wishing you a natural speedy one xxx
-
Oh my goodness, ladies I am so touched that you've all taken the time to wish me well. Thank you so very much.
I have to say my nerves have kicked in big time. What ifs and maybes flying through my head. What if something goes wrong with the anaesthetic. What if something goes wrong with my op.
I'm keeping my eyes on the finishing line and hoping I can get through it safe and sound.
Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart xxxxx
-
You are just being normal. My mother had this done in her 80s and was just fine.
Try and get an early night and before you know it you will be back in your own bed.
Mrs Brown
-
Thank you Mrs B, I'm having my last cuppa and then I'm off to listen to the radio in bed for a bit. Then some mindfulness and then hopefully some sleep.
I'll try to post as soon as I can when it's all over.
God bless ladies xxxxx
-
Hi there - I missed this was happening! All the very best Claireylou. Are you keeping ovaries? Hope you are feeling calm this morning :)
Hurdity x
-
Good luck Claireylou - it might even be all over by now....
-
Hope all went well and you get a good nights sleep :foryou:
-
Hope everything went well Claireylou - thinking of you sweetie xx
-
Hi, Claireylou! Hope your recovering well. We're all thinking of you! xxxxx
-
I'm thinking of you still too !
Hope you're recovering well xxxx
-
Hello lovely ladies, I'm home!
Surgery was text book, all done by keyhole with removal through vagina. Unfortunately my ovaries went too due too severe endometriosis :'(
I'm managing the pain with paracetamol which is great but oh my god the wind pains :o
I honestly thought something had gone terribly wrong with my surgery. Tempest you were so right about the big pants. I've got five little incision holes in my tum and the pants cover them nicely. I feel remarkably well but have been warned bruising and pain takes a few days to come out properly.
My consultant has prescribed 3.0mg estradiol patches to be changed twice weekly starting on Monday. Girls, I would be so grateful if you could help me decide if these are the right dosage etc.
And thank you for all of your very kind, good wishes. They mean the world to me xxxx
-
well things have improved from my day with the incision, stitches and 5 days in hospital (even though I had a great time). I am so glad it all went so well for you and that you have been given HRT without question. Good luck for the recovery and settling onto your HRT, hope it is all straightforward. :foryou:
-
Hi sparkle, yes I'm being waited on hand and foot. Curled up in front of a log fire xxx :)
-
I found a warm bath helped with wind pains but don't add bubble bath as it is already like a jacuzzi, parrrrppppppp ;)
-
Thank you Babyjane for your good wishes. It's so lovely being home xxx
-
Babyjane
Sparkle I hope you're right, never thought wind could hurt this much :o
-
Lovely to hear from your Claireylou. The wind pains are awful but will ease eventually. Hope you printed off the advice for recovery sheet so that everyone knows what you can and can't do. :D
Taz x :foryou:
-
Thank you Taz. Yes the recovery sheet has been stuck firmly on the fridge door. The ward sister reinforced the do's and dont's with DH before we left too.
I still can't believe it's all over. I was so scared beforehand but the waiting is definitely the worst bit. Oh and the wind of course xxx ;D
-
Hi Claireylou !
So glad you're ok, the wind and poo situation hurt me I think more than the op!
I don't know about 3mg patches it sounds more like a tablet dose to me ? What is the name of the patches ?
-
Hi Annie, they're called estraderm I think xxx ??
-
So delighted all went well Claireylou. Remember, keep those feet up! Lots of love xx
-
Thank you for your kind words Elizabethrose xxx
-
Pleased to hear everything went well. Did they give you a sheet with exercises to do for the wind? I got one after my last c section.
When you are laying down, pull your knees up and bend both knees together to the left then the right. Do that a few times then with knees still bent lift your bum up off the bed. If you do that a few times it gets the wind moving!
X
-
Thanks for the tips Megamind. Things have started to, ahem, move since I've been home. I'm making no apologies for the noises I'm making. My boys think it's hysterical xxx ;D
-
Claireylou!!!! How wonderful to hear from you! (Passes Toblerone but no gin for now - you'll still have anaesthetic in your system)! ;)
I'm glad the big pants are doing the job! I did warn you about the wind...... :o
I'm also so glad they fixed you up with HRT straight away - that's brilliant! Just take it easy for now, ok?
Biggest (but gentle) hugs!!!!! xxxxx
-
Thank you Tempest, your kind words have helped me along. First time in a long time I've had no alcohol on my birthday but I'm more than making up for it with some chocolate xxx ;)
-
Sorry forgot too! :cancan: :cupcake: :parti: :cake: :hbday:
-
Thank you ladies :)
I wonder if anyone has any tips for coughing after surgery? I've developed an irritating tickle caused from the breathing tube and I just can't cough without it really hurting >:(
-
Sparkle I didn't think of sucking a sweet. I think I've got some cough lozenges in the medicine cabinet.
Ive tried holding a pillow but because I've got five wound sites it's quite difficult. I'm scared I'm going to pop something, I'm sure that's just my imagination though xxx
-
Hello Clareylou,
I wasn't around to wish you good luck but I'm glad it all went well. Happy Birthday!!! :hbday: :cake: :congrats:
Sip some honey for the throat?
XXX
-
Thank you for your kind wishes menomale,
DH has just made me a hot honey and lemon and I've just rubbed some Vicks on my chest and throat. Not very romantic eh xxx ;D
-
Oh, dear, just to have a husband taking care of you is romantic! ;)
-

Blimey!! :foryou: :foryou: :hbday: :hbday: :hbday: :hbday: :foryou: :foryou: What a birthday present!!! In that case, get Hubby to stick some gin in the honey and lemon (or even better -whisky)! ;) xxxxx
-
Thank you Tempest! Don't tempt me, hubby has got an amazing collection of divine single malts xxx :D
-
Aw happy birthday from me too !
What about clearing your throat instead of coughing ? Xxx
-
Thanks Annie, yes that's what I've been trying to do. It seems to be easing a bit now thank goodness xxx :)
-
Bless ya, just think each new day is a day nearer to full recovery xxxxx
-
Hello
I am so glad all went well and you are home recovering, hope it continues to go wonderfully well and it's all over now so you can properly celebrate your birthday in a few weeks
Lots of love to you xxxx
-
Hey thanks TallulahsMom, how're you doing these days ? :)
Sparkle I can assure you that absolutely no whisky was harmed in the making of my very therapeutic honey and lemon drinks ... None whatsoever ... Absolutely none ... Honest xxx :stretcher:
-
So pleased to hear all went well, Claireylou. Just remember to take it easy! :foryou:
-
Thank you jenna. I'm not liking this resting malarkey very much, I'm so used to being up and at em. Hubby says this morning that I'm not so hunched over when I walk so that's good (http://)
-
Hey glad it went well, I have ME and one of the hardest things was pacing (resting) 😂Took a good few years to work on that one.
But it is so important to let your body heal and recover, the more rest the quicker you will heal 😘Xxx
-
Thank you Lil. I just find it hard accepting help but I guess I'm going to have to "let it go, let it go" on this one xxx ;D
-
;D
-
Haha I'm like that I hate asking for help my mum says I was independent from being a baby.
But you must, you will be well again in no time so make the most of it 😉😘xxxx
-
I shall try my level best Lil xxx :)
-
😊xxx
-
Pleased to hear you are home and doing well.
Remember there has been a big operation and although you only have tiny wounds there has a lot gone on inside.
Rest up and get better soon.
Mrs Brown
-
Thank you very much Hasty. I guess I'm going to have to be sensible with this recovery and just take my time.
Thank you MrsB. That's the thing see. I've got five tiny incisions around my tum but as hubby keeps telling me, all hell has broke loose underneath so I have to be really careful. I'm trying to just do nothing but it's quite hard xxx
-
If you find an addictive Netflix show maybe that'll help :)
glad you're doing well. :)
-
Not often I would say this but listen to hubby ::) ;D
Mrs Brown
-
MrsB ;D
Nearly50, thank you. I've got The Durrells to watch and I think my son has downloaded The Crown too. But I've got the attention span of a gnat at the mo, feeling really nauseous today too xxx
-
Enough wind to fly a kite? ;)
Enjoy being waited on!
:party09: :cupcake: whoops not good for nausea (snatches them back ;-) ) - ice-lollies to suck, ginger biscuits, sips of water - your body has been busy so has used up energy you aren't replacing [Dextrose is useful, bananas, grapes ........
-
Thanks CLKD,
Yes plenty of wind though the pains have eased loads today. It's just this light headed nauseous feeling toady :-\
-
Logically you know it's lack of sustenance :-\ - dry toast help? Get the man to put a slice under the grill. Oxo cube in hot water to sip? Something to stop that gnawing gut ! :bighug:
