Title: Longer periods
Post by: Starla76 on May 20, 2017, 11:17:01 PM
Hi - I've been having all the usual peri symptoms but just wondered if anyone else has experienced this one as well?

My periods are still fairly regular although have started to play up coming after three weeks etc here or there.

But my last couple - the period itself is fairly heavy for just a few days, around three then I don't need a pad. But for about a week after I still have like the end of a period - brown/light pink - but only when I wipe after a wee, as in no need for a pad.

The second week I also have bad anxiety and feeling spaced out.

So it feels like I am only off my period and PMS free for about a week every month  :'(

Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, my periods last as the least 10 days now, a couple of times 18 and recently 25.  When I have 25, 26 day cycles it doesn't leave much time. I think I worked out that I had my period for almost half the year in 2015, it is slightly better now I skip some. Keep an eye on your iron and ferritin, I need to take ferrous fumarate to keep up

Yep.  Sounds 'within normal limits'.  Mine waxed and waned, fortunately not as heavy as those I suffered during my menstruating years.  Which were in hindsight, AWFUL  :-\.  Then they became lighter and intermittent with several months Between each, then gone  :)
