Ok, so along with the palpitations, at the same time, there's a wiggly feeling in the legs. The doctor merely told me this was bizarre.... 'your legs are not connected to your heart, no that's not medically significant.' lol
Anyone else getting this type of symptom who are in peri menopause?

oh yes, 'wiggly feeling' sums it up well and there is also restless legs. Of course your legs are connected to your heart, silly doctor. Your heart is the centre of your circulatory system so it affects the whole body ::)
My wiggly legs depend on how much I have used them and how tired I am but the restless legs can, I think, be due to low potassium. Bananas are good for this :)

Silly Dr, it makes perfect sense, low magnesium causes "wiggly" feelings in the legs and palpitations, perhaps try some slow mag at night before bed or a good magnesium supplement.

What a dreadfully uninformed doctor.
Restless Legs Syndrome is a symptom of peri and post menopause - as the loss of hormone profile can, amongst many other issues, affect the central nervous system.
As mentioned, Magnesium supplements may help. Also, a bath or just soaking feet with Epsom Salts.

My wiggly legs are difficult to describe and not regular enough to go to the GP about but when walking I think I'm putting my foot down but it finishes up somewhere else :o often causing me to 'wobble' or change direction! Himself will say 'staggers again, have another drink' ..... it's intermittent, non-painful, un-expected but probably in my case due to not enough exercise. I think that the thigh muscles have weakened so legs need to compensate :-\
Restless leg Syndrome has been cured for me by eating several small bananas daily, or if I am out of them I take 1 Nurofen tablet 30 mins. B4 bed. It never bothers me if I sleep in the day time but once in bed >:(
