Morning all. I have my meno appointment this morning. Other than going armed with my symptoms is there anything I need to be asking? Thanks in advance 😊
-
Where are you at in menopause?
-
I only ask because I was trying to think of useful questions but they depend on whether your peri or post. I would say though, be specific about symptoms and time scales. My specialist took a very detailed history and asked lots of 'how long' 'how much' and 'when' questions. Good luck 😊

Hi peacegirl. Peri but with relatively regular periods which are short and light.
-
Hope all goes jorainbow, update us when you have been :) Good Luck

Thanks Dee 😊😊

Ahh, I'm post so probably can't help other than being factual and specific. My specialist rolled her ideas when I veered even a tiny bit in the direction of dramatisation lol! Look forward to hearing it went well 🤞🏼

What a wonderful woman!!! Definitely in peri. Starting low dose femoston with a gentle progesterone and review in 3 months. Letter will go to my GP to sort the script. Advised re lifestyle too and couldn't praise this website enough 😊😊😊

Oh wow, that's great to hear! I loved femiston but it didn't have quite enough estrogen or I would ha e gladly stayed on it. Lost of women on here have praised it. :)

Hi can I ask did you see a local clinic to you or email the lady it's just I'm looking for a private meno doctor one who actually cares and can you let us know how you get on with femoston that's the one I hope to try. Good luck so glad you got sorted
-
Sorry me again..can I ask how she confirmed you're peri as I'm sure I am with all the symptoms I'm getting but as I'm still getting a monthly period albeit every 3 weeks not 4 my doctor says I can't be ..
-
Thats brilliant, Jo! I'm so glad you've had such a good outcome! :) xxxx
-
Hi Peroxide - private clinic close to me (Leeds). I'm still getting periods too but like yours changeable! She's a specialist in meno so will be much more knowledgeable than most Gps - she asked for history I gave symptoms et voila!!! I'll keep you posted xx Tempest - Just having it confirmed made me feel so much better 😊😊😊

Peri-menopause is a specific time of Life which is often un-recognised initially: for me was intermittent periods. Body became dry = itchiness across my bach/shoulders ...... insteps. Menopause is after the final period though one can't always be certain for a couple of years whether it was the last ::).
Some ladies also have other symptoms which one associates with peri-menopause: flushes, depression, anxiety ........

Well done Jo for getting peri confirmed, hope all goes well with the femoston x
-
Let us k now how you get on! Were other HRT's suggested should this one not be suitable?

CKLD - No nothing mentioned at the appointment. Thanks for your positive words all - let's see how it goes 😊😊😊😊
