Title: Two quick questions...
Post by: Starla76 on April 27, 2017, 07:53:04 PM
Hope you can help!

Does anyone else's periods last longer during perimenopause? I seem to have brown discharge for a day or two, then a period and then a brown discharge for a few days after my period has stopped?

Also - I honestly could cry at the drop of a hat! I don't even know why I'm upset! I have high anxiety and having anxiety attacks but I'm so emotional! Is anyone else like this?

Thanks Sparkle  :)

Yes still regular at the moment although the one before last was a week early so they're starting to play up a bit!

Starla76 my periods have been brown to start with then blood then brown & a bit hit & miss last year, the last 3 months have been more red blood,

I can cry at the drop of a hat too, I just sit at my desk at work & have a cry, my colleagues look on helpless but understand!  I think the high anxiety gets me crying I am very emotional too just want to be on my own sometimes & just sob  :'(

Hi Starla and Dee,

As Sparkle has said I think this sort of change in menstrual loss is very common, in fact it seems that almost anything can happen. Some ladies get heavier, some lighter, some chop and change between the two. The possibilities are endless. The good thing about this site is that you can always find half a dozen other ladies with similar experiences to you.

Knowing that all is normal makes us feel easier, less isolated. When you feel low pop on here, have a chat, there's normally always someone around. x
