Title: very close to saying to hell with HRT
Post by: Butterfly22 on April 13, 2017, 03:20:45 PM
Today I feel awful just want to hide in a cupboard and cry.
I'm 43 and have had a life of hormone carry on.
I had endrometrosis from 13-25 then menopause 25 to now.
I have ME and depression so finding a suitable HRT has been a nightmare.
I'm on the patch ATM after trying EVERY HRT there is but the way I feel right now is
Enough is enough.
I feel low and just want to cry, I feel flat and numb inside.
30 years of hormone hell is enough, I may just come off HRT. Surely if I look after myself with
Calcium ect I'll be ok.
Sorry for the moan it's just today I've really had enough.

Lil22- you've been through the mill haven't you?  :bighug: :foryou:

Can you get an appointment to see a specialist ( gyny or endocrinologist?)

You haven't said what you're currently taking or if you've tried ones with kinder progesterone in them. I'm assuming that you have.

Would it be worth e mailing your question to Dr Currie on this site?

Sadly, I think that some women just don't get on with any form of HRT so maybe looking at supplements and some form of therapy might help you more. Also, have you discussed with your doc the AD medication you're on? Maybe needs tweaking?

I don't know enough about it but just wanted to say hi and that I'm thinking about you. I'm currently struggling with HRT too and reckon it's the progesterone so I need to discuss moving to a long cycle with this but I'm a bit away from this as an option at present.

I know it can all feel overwhelming- try and do something you enjoy and get to see your doc to discuss.

Let us know how you get on x

Hi Michelemabella,
Yes I've tried everyone on the list, I was seeing a specialist at hospital but was having problems back then finding one, but then I moved and my doctor dose not think I need to go as just be doing same as her looking for one I can get on with.
I was on nuvelle ten years then it was discountined.
Spent four years finding something I was ok on (some made ME worse, some gave me acne ect)
So settled on premique! After a year and a half discountined 😡
I'm on the Femseven patch ATM but feel awful (when it stays on)
I just feel like saying that's it with HRT
Sorry your having trouble to I'm so sick of it.
And thank you for replying knowing others are there is comfort xxx
Xxx

Hi Stellajayne
Thank you for your reply, the patch I'm on is estrogen only I haven't even taken progestrogen yet, I was on the gel but ended up in bed after a couple of weeks really poorly.
The same happened a few years ago on the gel to.
Someone did mention taking separate but the provera gave me acne and the other one made my ME worse.
It may be looking to try the provera again as I guess it's been about four years since I last tried it.
I'll do research on estrogen only tabs.
I feel like I'm going crazy with it all and I can't get the grasp on all the HRT (even though I've done so much research) it's frustrating.
Thank you Fo replying though xxx

I was with the premique, but as I can't get it the doctor put me on the gel then patch. I only found out I need progestrogen with the patch from googling it as the doctor did not tell me. Xx

I feel for you Lil22. I haven't had any experience of femseven so can't comment on them. I'm on evorel 50, have you given them a try, they're very good.  I felt better within 24 hours of going on them - just a suggestion x

Hey Peri
Thank you for reply, yes that's the one that made my ME terrible, I was on it three months but could not get out of bed was so tired.
IVe taken my patch off as was in melt down yesterday, mice booked at doctors in a couple of weeks I may try the provera and Premarin as closest to premique and if it's the same progestrogen in premique least I no I can tolerate it.
It's great you had such good response so pleased HRT gives people there life back, I think because of my ME and depression it makes everything a bit more awkward.
Thanks for replying though and enjoy good Friday 😊Xxx

Hi Lil, I am the same, thinking of giving it up altogether.

03.51 and I am on another rollercoaster. No progesterone for days but the estrogen seemed to trigger it. I cant advise except to repeat what my daughter said to me, remember it is chemical..Hang in there

Not much help info wise but I am.exactly the same!. I have me and fibro and am really.struggling to find a regime.  I have ended up back on the gel. but I think those of us with me  r really sensitive to any meds and also the fluctuations of hormones. something I have recently. discovered hace u had . your b12 checked. I ended up on injections and although not helpful for menopause itiggr help.with the moods etc. google b12 deficiency.  Amazing how many symptoms.cross over with me!
Anyway I am thinking of ditching the lot.too and going the natural route with herbs etc bit will.see. good luck and hope u get a bit of relief soon xx

Hi Lil, glad youre on the up. I am feeling better by the day. I had aged in the face in the 2 yrs of taking HRT and my skin looks better. I look less stressed and strained.

I am wondering of the alcohol had affected me as well as Lupus and ME sufferers have very similar intolerances.

Mad anxiety and weird thoughts gone.

Well that's good, I did ask the doctor what would happen if I stopped and she said bone, tissue and skin will suffer amongst other things.
I gave up ALCHOL nines years ago as made me so ill even a small amount xx

The doctor said it's because I started the menopause early so not a normal case so don't worry, (unless yours come early to ) xxx

Not early but the steroids cause bone thinning. I already have Ostopenia. I know the estrogen slows bone loss and the progesterone builds bone. Gotta get to the meno clinic I think

Ah right, my last born scan showed ostoprina to that was about eight years ago but luckly after getting help off here I kept asking to go for another and going next Wednesday.
If you could may be worth going and seeing if you can get someone to look at everything and see if can help more xx
