Title: Anyone taking progesterone permanently?
Post by: DEG on April 11, 2017, 11:03:44 AM
Before I started oestrogel and utrogeston I would go for months without a period. Other symptoms led me to be put on hrt. First few months were fine but due to breast cysts I had to be lowered to 100mg utrogestan (200mg also irritated my bladder too much and made me so nauseous). Over the last couple of months I have now been having 2 periods a month so my specialist has suggested taking 100mg permanently. Is this ok?  Anyone else do this?  She says it's fine and won't have any effects on my body but I feel it must

Hi Deg, I apparently have a breast cyst. Why do you need less progesterone, did they say?

I have noticed the bleed with Utrogestan sunce changing to vaginal. I was taking the 200mg but even the 100 seems to cause bleeding and other mental issues.

I have read a lot on here about ppl taking 100mg daily with no issues and no bleed. If I understand correctly it works by jist ensuring the lining doesnt build up so doesnt need shedding.

Every bodys body is different. I think theres so much trial and error. Glad to know you have a specialist to turn to
