Title: Missing periods
Post by: Spangles on March 14, 2017, 07:56:29 AM
Hi Ladies,
I've posted similar in the past.
I was finally diagnosed with meno at 44, it had been going on for a few years by then.
When I was diagnosed I was missing periods Hera and there, sometimes for up to 3 months.
Had a few issues finding the right HRT for me, I use evorel 50 and Utrogestan 200, I have been for the last two years or so.
Since being on HRT (5 years in total), I've always had a regular bleed. However, I've started to miss periods again over the last 8 months I've missed three, they aren't proper periods, very light, often very painful due to fibroids.
Do periods eventually stop even when you are taking HRT?
I'm a bit confused here.
Thanks
Shellb

Hi Shelb, oddl enough I was thinking that myself - I am on sequi so still have a short bleed but I wondered if these stopped over time - hopefully somebody will be along to let us know!

Hopefully this will help to answer your question.  I was started on Femoston sequi at the start of my meno journey and like you had a small bleed each month.  This kept up for 3/4 years then the bleeds started getting a bit erratic, some month's nothing, some months barely more than a panty-liner needed.  At my check-up when I mentioned this to my meno nurse she changed me to Femoston conti - I had a small break-through bleed the first month then nothing since (almost 2 years ago now).
