No, not the John Travolta kind. ;D
Have had weird chills last couple of weeks, but only down one side of body, left side. Is this yet another Meno thing or something altogether different? Heck I feel my body is giving up the ghost sometimes. Really don't want to go back to GP with something else. Currently awaiting 24hr heart monitor results & referral to gynae clinic. When does it end? :-\
-
Straightaway I thought ....are they multiplying ! ;D
But seriously no words of wisdom for you unfortunately it could be new meno thing or nothing to do with it at all, just one of those things we experience.
:foryou:
-
.....and I'm losing control ;D ;D ;D
Blimey if it's not one thing it's another with meno stuff isn't it. Just seemed weird to have one sided chills. Not in a draught either.
-
well I definitely lost control yesterday when I sneezed with a full bladder  just put clean PJs on too ::)
chills, yes but can turn into a hot flush then back to a chill. Sometimes my feet and legs are cold and my top half and head is hot ??? Getting less now as 60 and post meno.
-
An ooops moment bj. ::)
I've had those kind of chills too, but this was very different. No hot flush to warm me up afterwards. Very one sided as opposed to top/bottom half.
-
I get a strange sensation of pins and needles though could be chills down one side, feels like it's under the skin :o. Nowt develops though ::)
-
I'd say that's a good description of wat I am having right now and for the past few weeks. Just left side from my arm then side/flank then down leg. It's horrible like a nervous system tingly cold feeling.,really gets me down as no relief from it..I wonder if its anxiety ? 🤔
-
That's it Mumalmight! seems to run down the sciatic nerve route without being painful, like pins and needles. Quite a pleasant sensation at times ::)
-
Electrifying!!!!! 8)
Sometimes I just feel cold instead of hot.
I get cold a lot :sigh:
-
dahliagirl - thyroid function test recently?
cubagirl - have you got a Germ? :-\
-
No germ that I know of.
I'd better shape up..... ;D
-
'cos I need a ........... :whist:
-
I had one done when I started feeling TAAT when I was 40, and again a year ago.
My thyroid function tests always come out bang in the middle.
I also get constipated really easily which is a symptom.
-
Could you require treatment then?
-
Haha, have to say cubagirl, this pesky tune was on my mind all day yesterday after reading this thread. If I wasn't singing it or humming it, I was whistling it. Hubby said, "For the love of God Sandy, will you change that tune!"
Out to dinner with five friends last week of a similar age. Three had hot flushes, two were chilled to the bone and one sat there smugly very comfortable. Scarves were being thrown off and clutched on frequently.
-
I've had chills before, usually preceding a flush, but it was all over. It's like someone drew a line down the middle of my body. So weird. ::)
ER ;D ;D ;D

CLKD I had my thyroid tested too just a few weeks ago wen all this became worse but all normal. I feel like a nervous wreak in my body not my mind if that makes sense..all becomes worse around ovulation and the my period. I've just had my 83 yr old auntie round she said all she remembers is hot flushes so went on HRT only to be told that it holds off menopause so she came off it. I don't have hot flushes as such but get hot. And sweat at night in bed Sometimes I feel like a fraud and that hot flushes is the only one true sign of meno but as I'm only in peri is it very normal to not have hot flushes?
-
Absolutely nothing surprises me any more cubagirl, I seem to move from one new thing to the next. I tend to ignore and manage anything unless it could potentially be something more serious otherwise I'd have to set up camp inside my GPs waiting room. It is quite ridiculous!
Today's delight is my teeth have all very suddenly become super sensitive, all of them. Couldn't even eat the apple I'd just cut up. Migs can cause tooth and jaw ache but this is different, it's the sort of sensitivity around a receding tooth. I do have exposed dentine areas but usually controlled by Sensodyne but it's never all flared up like this before. Jeez, if I was a horse they'd shoot me! x
-
It is within normal limits to have/not any menopause symptom ::). Some GPs really do believe that a lady isn't in peri unless she is complaining of hot flushes :bang: :bang: :bang:
I get tooth sensitivity too. Intermittently >:(.
-
I have tooth troubles too. I am trying to learn not to clench my jaw (which seems to be another menopause symptom for me ::) )
I have been putting sensodyne on the tippi brushes that I use for between my teeth (the gaps are getting wider :o )
-
Ladies I thank God I have a sense of humour because if I don't laugh I'd cry! I don't even mention stuff to my husband anymore, that glazed look that creeps over his face makes me want to punch him. I think he's beginning to believe I've turned into his mother who was a desperate lifetime hypochondriac! :o
-
:kick: him back?
I've an ear-worm now ::) .........
-
Mmm yeh that's wat I thought! Well if I'm not peri menopausal then I'm done for 😫
Elizabethrose my hubby has same glazed look that I cud punch :P. I don't bother either and he wudnt believe half the stuff if I told him. :D

By the way I'm on antibiotics at the mo for infected gums..in prep for a deep scale nxt week under anesthetic I have wobbly teeth! Oh the joys :-\
-
I had a deep scale of some implant areas a few weeks ago. Job Well Done!
-
Yes I think it does help to keep gums healthy..I will look like a vampire wen I'm done thou as they also bleed terribly 🙄
-
That's a sign of lack of attention ;) - do you use Tip-pee brushes? I find them really useful. I have to keep my implant areas really healthy so that the gums don't recede which would cause £s3K worth of tooth to fall out :o
-
Unfortunately I inherited bad gums from my mother. I have 3 mthly scale and polish to keep the bleeding at bay. My mum had all her teeth out at 36 due to pierra my sister is the same she has some false teeth 😱 Not something I want to happen to me ;))
-
I went for implants as the thought of dentures :sick02:
I'm chilly now :-\
-
That's interesting as I have often wondered wat I wud do if I do lose teeth that r at the front .ive lost 3 back teeth already and yeh the thought of dentures arghh!!! Do u think my gums could hold implants? I know this is a different subject now but the thought is chilling ;D
-
Your Dental Surgeon will do X-rays to see what amount of bone density is available and decide whether you are good at keeping your mouth healthy. I have 3 implants ...... the gums have to be kept really clean so I use those Tee-pe sticks. As well as 3 monthly check ups. As the bone can 'see' the titanium stem as a foreign body, it is advised to have the procedure over many months to allow the jaw bone to heal B4 the next stage. Anyone who gets drawn in by extraction followed by implants on the same day is stupid. ;)
-
Well I will certainly bear that in mind. ::).my dentist knows me well he does everything he can to help I'm sure if it came to it he wud do all he cud as he does to save my teeth from falling out. At least I may have Options. Thanks for the good advise :)
-
Bit of a meander, sorry :-\. Do ask him if he thinks implants are an option for you. They are not available on the NHS.
I have warmed up from earlier, I was a bit concerned mid-afternoon as to if it is a bug but apart from my toes .........
I'm now whistling "I've got rhythm" for some reason ::)
-
Haha! I feel different every minute, cold then warm, can't tell a bug from hormones these days. Yes I will have a chat I'm going nxt week. 6 yrs ago he referred me to a private clinic for train track braces at the top as my two 2nd front teeth started to twist out so now I wear a retainer every night. All due to my spongy gums. I wud imagine implants r slightly more expensive than train tracks but my teeth r important to me maybe with my Mum losing hers So young., so it's definitely worth considering shud the worst happen :)
-
B4 the worst happens!
-
Yes I see wat u mean ;) ;D
-
My teeth have gotten really sensitive lately too. Dentist & hygienist next month. Oh joy!
-
our daughter has missing front teeth, they have never been there. She has had an assortment of bridges since she was 16 but has made the decision to have implants. this means train tracks for 12 months to open up the spaces and make room for the actual impants. Granddaughter also has train tracks for 2 years so they are supporting each other and will eventually both have lovely teeth ;D (teeth)
-
Our son had train tracks to straighten his teeth for about a year. I had braces for best part of 5 years. Think the wires have damaged my teeth as it's my top teeth which are suffering most.
