Can any of the ladies out there who have used Zoladex to suppress ovulation, and therefore the fluctuations, tell me whether they had to stop their HRT and not restart for 3 months.
This will be a Las resort for me but when my consultant prescribed it last year I was too to stop my hrt cold turkey, which made me really ill, so I didn't go ahead with it. The prospect of being without hrt fo ref 3 months also frightened me.
I get the impression that some ladies are allowed to use add back hrt straight away and would love to know if this is the case.
I will be 52 in July so not sure whether just to ride this out but things have been so bad I'm considering giving it a try.
Thank you again for your knowledge and support xx

I am 56, had Zoladex to reduce fibroid and help with adenomyosis, prescribed for a year with no HRT.I felt amazing on zoladex even though it pushed me in to menopause. Stopped zoladex four months ago and have just had a heavy period :'(

Hi
Thanks for your personal message buy the forum would not let me send a personal message back. I was supposed to start Zoladex then after 4 months of being on it I was supposed to begin Livial. However I had an increase in atrial fibrulation and chest pain which was eventually diagnosed as Angina. My cardio consultant did not want me to start HRT so I remained on Zoladex for a year. Had a break of 4 months but have now had a doozy of a period and GP has advised waiting to see if this happens again and if so will either start Zoladex again or bite the bullet and have a hysterectomy as I have had enough of the bleeding and pain.
