Hi, I wondered does anyone have experience or knowledge of the chances of getting pregnant during peri menopause? I'm 50 and been peri for a while with terrible hot flushes and night sweats. I hadn't had a period for 5 months until last week when a very light one appeared. It was at the end of that that the 'accident ' occurred. I wondered if I should take the morning after pill. As an aside I took clonidine for 2 months which didn't work at all. I switched to high dose vitamin supplements and the flushes stopped, virtually overnight. I'm left wondering if they went on their own because I could still be fertile but loath to stop in case it's the miracle cure . Any help would be great. Lx

Hi Lanie, it's highly unlikely but certainly possible. If I were you I would definitely take the morning after pill but I knew a woman who 'accidentally' fell pregnant at 50 and had twins. It put the fear of God into me! (My husband too, he immediately booked himself in for a vasectomy!
Good luck! x
