Hello, I haven't been on here for a long time, this site and some of the ladies (some who are still on here I expect), helped me when I started going through peri and then menopause, I was having panic attacks, palpatations, hot flushes, night sweat, it dialled 999 twice, serioiusly thought I was dying and my anxiety got worst and worst.
I stopped exercise and when to have ecg's etc on my heart I was so nervous something was going to happen, now after not having a period since December 2013 it has got better, I still get terrible night sweats, and flushes (though these are less frequent), but the panic attacks, palpations have stopped, I still get anxiety over exercise I think if my heart beats fast or I feel light headed I'm dying, but I try and go walking and not let it stop me.
I tried lots of HRT, anti depressants (lasted 3 days on those) and gave up now I take Vitamin D and Magnesium with Vitamin B6, I always carry Bachs Rescue Remedy incase I need it, but its probably out of date now.
I just hope that this will help anybody who has similar symptoms

yes Annie0710, it will get better, its horrible though I feel for you, I was even afraid of taking hrt because of the side effects, that's why I stopped it in the end, for some people its been great though, maybe just a case of finding one that suits.
Yes all ok, still looking for Mr Right.... that's another story xx

Hi Karenja, so nice to read something positive, as many of us feel the horrid symptoms will never end.
Can I ask what dose of Vit D you're on? I was prescribed 800iu fultium by GP as levels were insufficient @ 28, only been on them 2 months and as yet no difference. I can't take B6 & prefer to get Magnesium from food.
Wishing you continued good health 😊

Hi Sparkle, my GP said no need to supplement with magnesium or K2, even though I'm on omeprozole which I believe can cause absorption issues. NHS guideline state that in this country, we should all be taking up to 1000iu Vit D daily, especially in the winter months. I've been trying a short spell at sunbeds once a week to see if that will help 😊
