I have some tibilone to try (haven't started it yet) but I've been off all gels for a couple of weeks now, just having a break not really sure why?? Been having some kind of withdrawal loss not really blood but brownish liquid with bits in.
I've also just started b12 injections, I persuaded my private GP as I have all the symptoms of a deficiency even though I'm "in range" but my folate is also low (below range) so I'm having 5 injections over 2 weeks, having my 3rd tomorrow. I've also started taking 5mg folic acid daily.
With all that going on I'm unsure what to do about starting the tibilone as IF I do start to see an improvement how will I know what's causing it? Should I stay off all hormones for a little while longer or should I just bite the bullet and start? Should I start with half a tablet of tibilone or go straight for the whole tablet? Should I go back on the gels? Or do a combination of both and gradually ween off the gels whilst taking the tibilone?
When prof Studd prescribed the tibilone he said to carry on with the gels for a week while starting it and then stop them.
Really not sure which way to go with it all??

Hi chi chi
Can't help about the hrt but whilst you are having b12 loading doses it's vital you increase your potassium (b12 will drain it with symptoms) and magnesium etc. There's a fab FB group 'pernicious anaemia and b12d' or something like that. Following their simple regime will get you the benefits of your newly added b12. It's the FB group with the largest number of members xx

chi chi - if the flushes and night sweats are not too bad, I do think it's good idea to have a proper break from the hormones first before trying something different. You said yourself that you want to see if the B12 etc. helps first and I think that's a good idea.
Why not give it a couple of weeks - see how you feel and if the flushes come back then start the Tibolone. DG x

Thank you,
Annie I'm already joined in that group 😉 I need to ask on there what else I should be taking?
Dancinggirl I don't actually suffer with any flushes, yet! But at the moment I don't feel any worse for stopping, maybe a bit more achey and tired, maybe your right to have a complete break to see how things pan out??

Look in their files Chi Chi, they prefer members to have a good read there about the various supplements/foods to increase x

Hi Chi Chi
I agree with Dancinggirl if your feeling ok would wait and see if you need to return to HRT.
I am in the process of changing from Oestrogel (3pumps) to Tibolone. Early days for me and experiencing the side effects........grrrrr
