Emily Townsend BBC Radio Suffolk and the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star are launching a campaign to deter people from using their mobile phones behind the wheel.

More than 1,200 drivers have backed our campaign urging people to make an important New Year's resolution â€“ and stop using their mobile phones at the wheel.

I've got now that if 1 person begins looking towards their mobile when we are out, I walk away ......

I also see people walking along the pavement just staring at the phone and expect me to jump out of the way. More worrying is passengers doing this on the tube platform. I worry that they will walk off the edge. It hasn't happened yet when i have been there but there is a first time for everything.

I suspect the car drivers think "It won't happen to me"

Post by: CLKD on January 06, 2017, 11:45:51 AM: I have been known to remove mobiles from those who walk 'at' me ;) - explaining that I could have run off with their mobile ..... they usually look blankly as they really haven't a clue >:(

We were half way across and an oncoming lorry driver didn't even slow or see us as he had his phone to his ear! Good job I hesitated in the middle as I always do because you never can rely on drivers stopping even if you are on the crossing.

Thompson was sentenced to two years and three months in prison for causing death by dangerous driving and 15 months for causing serious injury by dangerous driving, to run concurrently.
She was disqualified from driving for 10 years.

Then she should take a long walk off a short Pier!
