OMG. I wasn't a big fan - but what a loss :o :o
"Singer George Michael has died aged 53, his publicist has said.
The star, who launched his career with Wham! in the 1980s and later continued his success as a solo performer, is said to have "passed away peacefully at home".
Thames Valley Police said South Central Ambulance Service attended a property in Goring in Oxfordshire at 13:42 GMT.
Police say they were treating the death as unexplained but there were no suspicious circumstances.
In a statement, the star's publicist said: "It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period.
"The family would ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult and emotional time. There will be no further comment at this stage."

Feel so sorry for his family. Painful enough losing someone any time of year, but so much worse at Christmas and every year, the anniversary that is so sad for you is a time when everyone else is extra-happy.

I feel quite sad about this as I was a fan. Wham songs were fun, very 80's but I really liked him as a solo artist. It's just sad that when these guys pass we'll never hear new fruit of their talents again..... He had a troubled life and of course he nearly died after the bout of pneumonia, guess it weakened his heart and then along with all the drugs etc. I'm wondering if he had flu or something as it said he passed at lunchtime, peacefully so maybe he was ill?
It's also sad he died on Christmas Day, we were just listening to Last Christmas and Band Aid yesterday. :(

Have to admit I was more perturbed on Christmas Eve when rick parfitt died. Radio 2 has dedicated a 2 hour slot this morning to GM. Feel sorry that RP has not been given the same honour.

Its odd as my hated song of all time is Last Christmas
As a migrant it reduced me to tears heartbreaking sobbing.
Its awfully sad. We have no idea but hes not been 8n the public eye since 2012
Then only for the Albert Hall concert.
Perhaps his illness in 2011 damaged his heart ?
You see Carrie Fisher revived on the plane but never regained conciseness.
53 and 60 no age but just cos they are famous doesnt mean they are imune to death
