Hi on Estradot pitches a couple of weeks now and so far so good, no side effects except I'm starting to get teenage pimples lol. The irony is I never suffered with spots s a teenager but spots and pimples are appearing on my face and chest. I can live with this if the hrt keeps all the other symptoms away, just wondering if it is the hrt and is there anything I can do to help this or will it settle in time

Hi Yammy1
I had a similar result when I first started HRT. Had my ovaries removed and was sat at home, recovering, with nothing else to do but to pick the spots! In actual fact, they were more like boils than spots, as there was no "head" to them. Sorry if TMI!!!
I found reducing the dosage of my HRT helped, although I actually moved to a different HRT (lower dosage) so not sure whether it was the lower dose or different HRT that did the trick.

Me too. Upper arms and thighs no where else , they were awful since upping HRT they have almost gone.

Thank you for your replies, and I totally know what you mean by 'boils with no heads' that's exactly what that are. I will give it another few weeks and see if it settles, just annoying because as soon as one settles down another one pops up,pardon the pun, If they weren't on my face it wouldn't be too bad

Im new to HRT and suffered last month with exactly this on my chin but this month so far so good , My GP did say it would take Upto 3 months to start feeling the benefits.

I got the opposite - as my oestrogen levels dropped I started getting hot spots on my cheeks - just as you say like acne but without heads - menopausal acne I think it's called - but never got spots when young. When I went onto HRT they disappeared on only started to come back when I stopped HRT for 3 months once in my last 50's....
Do you tak any progestogens with the Evorel patches or are they just oestrogen alone? Some progestogens can cause acne because they are androgenic - like norethisterone which is in Evorel conti/sequi.
Hurdity x

I'm on oestrogen only because I had a hysterectomy four and a half years ago. I will give it time because if all I have are spots to worry about it will be worth it. this menopause is a nightmare, hopefully hrt will sort me out

Yes I started to get acne on my cheeks when my oestrogen levels dropped as well.... although I didn't realise at the time that was why. When I started on Evorel Sequi they cleared up during the oestrogen phase but got even worse during the progesterone phase.
