Title: Feels like period pain, but can't be.........
Post by: Melbury on December 07, 2016, 08:47:47 PM
I had a subtotal hysterectomy in 2003 (retained cervix and ovaries) and subsequently the menopause kicked in a few years later circa 2007.

Anyway, I sometimes get what feels just like period pain and cramping for no apparent reason.  It has been particularly noticeable the past couple of days.

Does anyone else get this?

I try not to worry about it because it usually passes, but would just like to know if this is a normal thing.

I haven't had a period since 2002 - occasionally I get feelings that make me think "Oh, not a period after all these years!" - not severe but a reminder of what it felt like  >:(

Melbourne, you're not alone. I had hysterectomy 25 years ago, kept ovaries until 10 years later.

I still get period type pains. Have done for a number of years now. I don't bother about it too much.

Thank you both so much for the reassurance, greatly appreciated.
