Title: good housekeeping November editorial
Post by: Springer on December 04, 2016, 01:44:00 PM
Hi, I was away on holiday for most of November but following on from my Hi on the newcomers board, I thought I would highlight here my concerns re the editorial in GH. As I said before it minimised symptoms and bizarrely said that menopause was getting too much attention compared to osteoporosis. With no recognition of potential links and no acknowledgement of range of symptoms that women may experience. I have emailed them, no response yet but hope others have raised concerns.

Sadly these type of articles are very common - apart from our very own menopause matters publications,.  :)

Let us know if you get any response.

Well done you!  Don't expect a response though, it will be interesting to see if you get one!  I often mutter about articles in various UK Mags., when I would expect Editors to be on the ball - don't really know what they are paid to do!  [I started a thread will see whether I can find it!]

Hi, she even made fun of an article that If I recall correctly was written by previous chief medical officer saying employers needed to show greater recognition for the impact of the menopause and take account of this in the workplace more - implying this was discriminatory - surely it's the opposite!  And seemed to state that the notion that it could cause relationship breakdown was a joke. Ironically other articles I think earlier this year in the magazine have covered the topic much more positively.

Does it depend on who writes the article, whether they are 'in house' or 'bought in'?
