I had that all the time before I started HRT, it was the sort of rollercoaster  feeling that you'd get if you saw a stranger peeking in through a window.

Yes that exactly.
Any suggestions to make it stop?

Hi Sparkle and Charlotte
I have had palpitations before but not today and no ringing in ears.
I just feel shaky like an unexplained nervousness and really cold feet.

Dear  Menomale
Once again thank you for such an informed response.

Sparkle, you were right this forum is invaluable. The info and support is helping me on a daily basis.

Menomale re the pituitary my symptoms all really started in July I completely lost my appetite and subsequently lost 2 stone in a couple of weeks. I eat every couple of hours but my appetite has still not returned. I'm sure I read somewhere that appetite is linked to the pituitary gland.
Re: my fluctuations any idea what the meno clinic might suggest??

It was a great relief to me to realise that other people had this feeling too, as I'd found it impossible to describe. It is a horrible feeling and I've had it far more often during the two occasions I've skipped periods.

Sorry to butt-in autumn16 but sparkle mentioned ringing in the ears and I get that a lot.

Sparkle- do you think the ringing coincides with high or low E? Do you have any other symptoms with it? I seem to get post nasal drip - sorry if too much info!

God.... you're not wrong. I'm pretty convinced it's low E that makes my ears ring as it seems to coincide with other 'low' symptoms.

Let me know if you get any lightbulb moments.

That's really interesting menomale - I don't think I get migraines, but not sure how they present without headaches?

I'm pretty sure my sore/puffy eyes, blocked sinus and ringing ears are all related to low E.

Dawncam, a blocked sinus can be a sign of low estrogen. My left one was blocked for ages and I was using a sinus rinse every day . It cleared up when I started taking hrt and my estrogen levels rose once more.

My left nostril was blocked in July for ages couldn't clear it with any nasal spray then it stopped left ear blocked as well.

I'm scared to open the curtains now  :-\

I never get headaches but have now been diagnosed with gastric migraines caused by my oestrogen going too high which puts too much fluid in the cells and overstimulates everything.

I also lost appetite (and stones) and felt as if I was plugged into a socket with everything pulsating here there and everywhere. I'd never even considered migraines even though I had a constant tight congested feeling in my head. I may still be getting blood tested for pituitary problems if they think necessary once they know if progesterone was enough to take the water out of the cells.

I'm assuming mine is rare but maybe all these meno neuro and motion sickness issues are migraine/pituitary based?

When I was at my worst I did find a low dose beta blocker helped as it reduces adrenaline. Obviously not a long term suggestion but it really does dampen the physical anxiety without side effects like some other meds.

The only time I have ever had silent migraines was when I was pregnant. Which is the hormone that would have caused it?

Nowadays, I seem to get quite sharp headaches tied to when my progesterone level rises/falls.

Also I have been getting quite a sharp ear ache in my left ear, and my scalp on the left side of my head feels very tender.

Hi Autumn,
It was getting my oestrogen levels up to a high level that just swept it away, i was a nervous wreck with that feeling.

Hi Autumn16

Sounds definitely some sort of hormone effect - surge or decrease.

In view of your recent estradiol reading - you remember I suggested perhaps you had ovulated and a period might be on the way? Do you think this could be happening? If this is the case then since your blood tests was takne you will have experienced a fall in oestrogen, a rise and then fall in progesterone and a period should start approx two weeks following the blood test. If you haven't ovulated then it could just be your falling oestrogen levels as the follicles in your ovary fail to mature, before the next lot get going (if there are any!). Craving for carbs often happens towards the end of the second half of the menstrual cycle....
