Title: hysterectomy

hi ladies,, could anyone tell me if you have gained weight after a hysterectomy its been 13 months now since i had it done took everything away my womb and ovaries since then i have put weight on ,,i have gone up a dress size my belly has got bigger and my boobs could it be anything to do with hysterectomy or just middle age spread

Lack of oestrogen.  After a hyster, one is plunged into menopause and unless you have oestrogen it is difficult to maintain your original body shape.  I'm afraid we all have to eat a lot less and exercise more when meno hits as well. DG x

I can vouch for Dancinggirls post

Oestrogen and smaller portions for me got me my figure back plus eating less really helps with the horrible bloated feeling
