Woke up with a rash over my whole body which has got worse as the day's went on. I haven't been this itchy since I had chickenpox as a kid.
Read on another thread that Aveeno body cream was the best option, any other suggestions? I have Eumovate but don't want to cover myself in it.
Is this another 'how long is a length of string' if I ask how long these things go on for? Have gone 35 days (and counting) since my last period, usually don't get past 22.

Get the rash looked at? :-\ ?

I'm sure it is just a rash from hormonal imbalance as it ties in with other things. I work full time so going to the doctor is not straightforward. If I went over every little thing, I'd never be away!

As oestrogen levels drop every thing dries up, skin, nostrils, deep in the ear, vagina ……. maybe use a good moisturiser? My insteps itch when I take my socks off and get into the bath ::). It's my 'spaniel ear' that is the most annoying, deep itchiness that I can't get down to relieve !! :-X

I itch a lot, but there is never any rash. I think if your rash has got worse during the day, you should keep an eye on it and although you can't get to the Dr, perhaps go to an NHS Walk In Centre if you have one near you?

Ask the pharmasist - they are brilliant with this kind of thing. You may be having an allergic reaction and need an antihistamine. Dg

I do agree that a rash all over your body is something worth checking out - and a pharmacist sounds like the best option if you don't have time to go to the doctors.
How is it today?

Good thanks, rash not any worse so I am sure it is fine. Putting e45 on, my sister said she had the same at my age so confident it doesn't need anyone looking at it. Thanks for suggestions.

Just as an update, my rash got a lot worse and so I have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday. Two pharmacists have told me that they think it is hormonal and today I've got some brown spotting, 40 days after my last period. Rash feels a bit less angry today - anyone had anything similar and found anything that works well. I'm taking piriteze and using e45 and Eumovate.
As an aside someone put it into my head that it might be bedbugs and because I am pretty anxious before a period I took it to heart. I wonder where the old, sensible non hysterical me has gone to sometimes.

I have had a lot of itchy skin during peri and in different areas but it's not really a rash, it itches and then I scratch so it creates a red mark. I use Diprobase Emolient which is a cream prescribed to my son for excema. My itching seems to go for a while then comes back so I presume it is hormonal.

Just an update, doctor said it was a classic allergy rash - dismissed the hormonal aspect, but then again he normally does. Left me with the cheery words 'it might last a week, it might last 5 years'. Cheers doc. Sudocrem has finally made a difference and the rash is definitely fading. But the itching goes on and on. Any tips? Piriton makes a slight difference

Severe itching was amongst the first low oestrogen symptoms I had
For the rash I'd take daily antihistamines. Have you changed washing powder, bubble bath, shower gel etc ?

GP on the ball then >:(.
Try an anti-histamine as necessary but choose a non-drowsy preparation ?

Itching was my first peri symptom of low estrogen...Benadryl helps with the itch also known as cetrizene, I think it's one of the best for itch xx
