Hi everyone, I was diagnosed as menopausal 2 days ago, and I've been given HRT patches. I had a hysterectomy a few years ago and now at 48 only have 1 ovary left in there, so clearly that's given up the ghost now ;D. I've been having a few problems, night sweats, mood swings (or roller coasters would be a better description!) and I can now cry at the drop of a hat!
Looking forward to having a good look at the forum and talking to other who are going through similar things.

Hi Jill
In an odd kind of way you are one of the 'lucky' ones. Seeing as you've had a hyster, you won't have to go down the path of using progesterone, which for a lot of ladies is the tricky part of HRT.
You might need a do a few tweaks to your routine before things settle, but generally speaking women do well with the patches, and the good news is that there is now no longer any justification for doctors not prescribing estrogen long term.
