A member recently brought this new coil to our attention so I thought the comparison between the Jaydess and Mirena could be interesting.
I have often wondered if the Mirena is a bit too heavy duty for some women and this could be a very good option for those who do not tolerate synthetic progesterone well.

Hi Mary G - I've just had a reply from my specialist who is very happy for me (as very prog intolerant) to have one fitted.
I'm delighted.

Dawncam, that is great news, perhaps you can start a new thread updating us on your progress? Hope it all goes well.
I think I'll change the heading to include the word "progesterone" so people know what I'm on about!

Yeah I'd be delighted to tell my story. Just really want it to be a good one!

So what is the difference in the progesterone between the two...I am too lazy to look it up for myself ::)
Although so far I seem to have no trouble with the Mirena apart from the initial 4.5 months spotting.

If you click on the link Mary G posted Tinkerbell it outlines the difference. Same type, different quantity.

Mary G - Dawncam has already started a thread on this a couple of days ago (but with an error in the title!), where the differences have been discussed - so I will continue to post on that one :). Thanks for the link - maybe post it on the other one as well as there's no point in having two identical threads going on in the same section ::)
