What are these patches exactly doing to my body

Hi Burchers
The oestrogen is supposed to replace oestrogen that is decreasing as a result of menopause and causes menopausal symptoms. When you start skipping periods and your cycle becomes variable that is a sure sign you are in peri-menopause, and if you are experiencing flushes and sweats. Some women are sensitive to a sudden increase in oestrogen when given as HRT and find it best to start slowly eg with half a patch for a few weeks before going up to a whole one. The progestogen in the patch (the second two weeks ie the Evorel conti patch) helps keep the womb lining thin and stops it from growing due to the oestrogen. When you go back to the Evorel 50 patches then you would get a withdrawal bleed.
Is this what you wanted to know?
