Title: Why 25 days Utrogestan?

Sorry if this has already been covered but can someone please tell me why I need to take 100mg Utrogestan for 25 out of 28 days. If I'm on a Conti regime why do I need a three day break?

This is the traditional licensed dose and probably designed so that if there is any chance of the lining building up - then it can be shed during that 3 days, rather than as intermittent spotting which does sometimes happen with utrogestan - especially with oral use. In practice many women do take it continuously but because it is dose dependent - it may well not work so well with medium/high doses of oestrogen.
