Title: Weird feeling in heart area
Post by: Yammy1 on October 24, 2016, 07:11:33 AM
Hi, I'm not quite sure if this is caused by menopause but lately I have been getting a strange feeling around my heart, I suffer from anxiety (convinced something wrong with my heart even though I've been checked out by doctors) but when I get this feeling if I burp it eases a Bit fora few minutes. It's driving me mad and it's very scary ,it's all I think about. Also my stomach swells a lot. Am I just being paranoid, or has anyone else had this feeling.

HI it's not  heartburn, I have a hiatus hernia and I've been taking lanzol for a few years now,it's probably me panicking  as usual, it's really getting me down though, taking over my days  :'(

I am also suffering from a 'weird feeling' just behind my bottom left rib.   I think it is trapped wind - woke up this morning and it wasn't there, then started with some weird swallowing thing and it came back - must be swallowing too much air.  I have had it before and am just going to assume it will go again [like all the other strange - but worrying - symptoms I have had  these last two years].

Distract yourself, take some exercise, have a laugh.   These all help me when I start catastrophising on some health issue...

Thank you sparkle I will ask doc about upping or changing meds for hh, and see will that work. and Urbangirl I know your right and there is nothing wrong with my heart, but when that feeling comes all rational thinking goes out the window. Oh the things us women have to endure, if any mad experienced half the things we do there wouldn't be many of them left lol

Urbanchick,

I've got that same pain.  I'm guessing a similar cause.  I try not to dwell on it as it can really take over my head.  Distraction is the best thing.  Just sometimes that darned health anxiety gets the best of me.
