I have been to the doctors today and she advised me to take a look at this website and join the forum. I am 56 years old and have been suffering symptoms for a couple of months but periods stopped about 3 years ago. Gathering more facts before I commit to hrt.

Hi and welcome to MM Pippalong.
There's lots of good info on this site. HRT is well worth try - it can be trial and error before you find one that works for you and all HRT treatments bring some compromises. We tend to suggest you start with a sequential HRT first, which means having a monthly bleed, but this enables you to gage whether the progesterone in a particular HRT suits you or not. It could be worth trying Femoston 1/10 as this type of HRT has a kinder progesterone and suits many women very well.
What symptoms would you like to get under control?

Have a read of the 'treatments' section above. Make notes. Ask.

Thankyou for the welcome. I am starting with treatment for vaginal atrophy. I am having hot flushes and headaches but I wanted to gather more info before I decide to go ahead.
