Title: Vaginal dryness Replens

I had my last period about 2 years ago. About 5 months ago I noticed that sex was becoming a little painful and I was very dry 'down below' Anyway been to the doctor and she gave me Replens MD which I've been using for about 7 weeks and although there has been some improvement there hasn't been as much as I would have hoped for. Should I persevere with it or go back to the doctor to see if there's anything better she can prescribe ?

As you don't want it to get to bad, its better to keep on top of it early, this is what I have discovered.

Post by: CLKD on October 02, 2016, 07:00:32 PM: She can give you treatment for vaginal atrophy, i.e. a local ointment with a small amount of oestrogen in - worked for me ;-)

The initial use is every night for 2 weeks and then every 3rd and 4/5th night.

Post by: CLKD on October 03, 2016, 01:19:57 PM: Or ring your Practice Nurse for advice? It may not be necessary to have an appt., explain your symptoms and ask for VA treatment. The Nurse can then discuss with the GP who may ring you or may leave a prescription.

I was on vagifem but my doctor switched me to Ovestin which didn't work and gave me lots of bad side effects. She doesn't like me taking vagifem because I had breast cancer, but I am ER negative and my oncologist says it's okay! Has anybody else had this situation?
