Was speaking to my sister yesterday and found out she was put on Bisoprolol for her blood pressure but it helped with her anxiety. Doc prescribed me Propranolol this morning 10mg for 3 times a day. Just taken my first one and obviously a bit nervous about taking it, but in for a penny. Fingers crossed it starts to help.
Love to all xx

My OH uses this for anxiety - it works really well and staves off panic attacks.

Thank you honey. I'm keeping everything crossed. My sister said hers only took a few days and she felt like herself again so I'm hopeful.

As long as it takes the pounding heart, headache and that horrible feeling of dread away, I'll be happy. Plus got hypnotherapy again on Tuesday next week so looking forward to that. Just hope it all makes me feel like myself again I'll be over the moon.

Hi puddlesmum I'm on 10mg propranalol x3 twice daily. So 60mg a,day been about 18 month now I'm unsure if it helps as I still get anxious physically upset tum dizzy heart pounding nauseous etc but then again I don't know I wouldn't feel a lot worse without them,
Hope you find them beneficial xx

I take 20mg in the morning and 20mg at bed time, I was taking the full 40mg at night but was waking with a headache. It supposedly stops any anxiety surges as I wake ……..

Does it work for you CLKD? How long does it take to kick in?

Gracious, I've been taking it since 2002 ……… I think I felt slightly hung over for a few days but generally, it does what it is designed for. Calms me.
Don't look for improvement, let the drug do the work ;-).

I just want to start to feel more like myself again. If it can take away the pressure I feel in my chest and the palpitations that lead me to overthink then I'll be just fine.
-
For me it was sudden awareness that I was feeling better …….. about 3 months 'in'.

I'll keep everything crossed. Could do with some relief instead of fighting it all the time.

What forms of relaxation do you do? My go-to is my evening bubble bath with Very Good Book and a cuppa or milk-shake.

I have a camomile tea, turn the computer off at 8pm, watch TV with my OH and dog until 11pm then off to bed when I do a 15 minute hypnotherapy mp3 which my therapist has done for me. I don't relax enough if I'm honest which I think is why I get myself in such a state. So I've been making sure I've been reading a book in the evening and trying to get enough sleep.
