Just about every night I wake up after a couple of hours sleep. I generally feel like I need a wee though there's not much there. Then I get hot, really hot, like there's something radiating from my back. That goes on for a couple of hours, at which point I drop off back to sleep. Have tried a cold flannel, sitting up and reading... nothing seems to speed up the heat going away.
I'm not hot to the touch.
I'm grumpy and knackered.
Any ideas?
Not currently on HRT except the Estring. Last period about 6 months ago.

Drink more! As for the 'heated' feeling, can't help, sorry :-\

This hot feeling during the night that you describe ancient runner is exactly how I felt when in late perimenopause before hot flushes and sweats began. I used to toss and turn and overheat. I wondered at the time if this is what night sweats were - until they actually started properly! Hot flushes were similar - I just used to get hotter generally - and this carried on probably for weeks (can't remember exactly) until flushes proper started.
It does sound about right especially as your last period was 6 months ago - be prepared for more and to get sweatier - oh joy!

Don't think it's anything much to do with the current temperatures, no.
CLKD if I drink any more I'll be up all night peeing - it can be four times even now.
