Title: Day 7 Utrogestan nausea
Post by: DEG on September 08, 2016, 08:42:16 AM
Hi I've been taking 2 X 100mg orally and I'm on day 7 of 12 and feel so nauseous today. I don't know if it's the Utrogestan?  Wouldn't I have felt nauseous from day 1?

Oh dear. Do you know of this is same case when taken vaginally?   Should I carry on for the 12 days or is 7 enough?  Reading through threads on here how come some people are advised 100mg only for 7 days?

I just read the leaflet and nausea isn't one of the common side effects so maybe I'm having an off day.

Keep going with the 2xUtro each day - you may well have an upset stomach fro some other reason - we tend to blame HRt for everything.  DG x

I spoke to my specialist and she said a side effect whilst my body gets used to it and to drop to one pill for a couple of months

DEG, you could try using 100mg vaginally.  I find that it works very well when used in that way and I always get good clearance/thinning.  It can cause an upset stomach and other side effects like breast pain when used orally and I found it didn't work as well - you can lose up to 50% of it in your digestive system too.

Michelle46, as long as I don't take too much of it, I don't suffer from any side effects when using it vaginally.  It does make me sleep very soundly, not that I have any trouble sleeping, but I don't get any breast pain because most of it is localised and goes where it is supposed to i.e. the womb.  However, if I take it for too long, it eventually creeps into my overall system and can cause migraines and low mood.  Therefore, I never take it for more than 7 days and stretch the cycle to 5 weeks and I can just about live with that!
