Title: Cramping and intermittent spotting
Post by: Lexia on August 27, 2016, 10:51:47 PM
I've been on HRT this time round for about a year,(previously took for about 2 years and had 18 month break due to migraine, not had natural period for 3 years) oestrogel daily and provera every 2 months, last few weeks I've had cramping,(after taking provera and having a bleed) not experienced this before. I also had some spotting about a week before starting the Provera last month, wondering if anyone else has experienced this??

Do a long cycle as you are can bring problematic bleeding - the womb lining may have built up and be spontaneously breaking away.  You should probably have a scan done to check the lining. It might be a good idea to do a monthly cycle for 2-3 months to help reduce the possible build up that may be happening.
Cramping is quite common on HRT - not sure why - my theory on this is that HRT does not entirely recreate what our own hormones would do naturally and has a stronger effect on our uterus - but this is just my theory.  Dg x

Lexia I have ongoing on and off cramping and periodlike backache but no spotting. On BHRT ( estradot and utrogestan) for about a year now. Scan showed multiple fibroids. Also wish to know what the answer is to this one...
