Title: Tight chest when on HRT

Hi ladies
I'm on HRT(the gel and utrogestan 100mg  for 14 days). It has helped a lot of things but I still suffer with a tight chest and tight to breath. Also my body feels a bit wired up. Would this be due to not enough estrogen or perhaps sensitive to the utrogestan? I use 2 pumps of gel at night. Thankyou xx

'still suffer with a tight chest' - has your GP checked this symptom?

Yes she just says anxiety. I've never ever had a tight chest since 4 months ago. Must be another awful peri symptoms. Looking forward to a symptom free day  :)

I've just reduced my patch from 100 to 75 to now 50 as I was constantly feeling wired.  It's helped a little

For you it could be too much estrogen then? X

I get a tight chest and find it hard to breathe but I know in my case its anxiety I have had ecg etc all fine .yours sounds similar Michelle 46 but I'm not a Dr go back and ask for tests if you think its anything other than anxiety

  Does it feel tighter when you are walking/moving? Does it affect your breathing at all? I have something similar . Saw the GP this week and she thought that it was partly related to anxiety.

Yes I'm sure it's anxiety. I'm trying to be calm but it keeps coming on me every day. I also know my breathing is a lot to do with it. I tend to gasp breath. I've got into bad habits.

Bad habits are so easy to fall into with anxiety its a vicious circle isn't it 😐 I walk about reassuring myself in ok sometimes it helps sometimes it doesn't 😊

Do you find you have got into a stupid habit which you know you have but stopping it is so hard. I find this breathing is taking over. I'm making myself lightheaded and upper body and head tight 😐

I tend to concentrate on my breathing then I think I'm not getting enough air then have a panic attack , I know its my own doing so I try not to think about my breathing as much as possible 😊 its definitely an anxiety state xx
