Laura Whitmore hosts the after show in I'm a Celebrity - get me out of here, although I don't think she is doing it this year.

She's Irish & OH thinks she is very, very pretty.  ::) ::)

I think her mother Pearl Lowe was some kind of groupie and she's friends with Kate Moss etc. She's also a designer I think. I don't really know what Daisy does other than have lots of famous boyfriends and supposedly a model. I do remember when she was a teenager she found out she had a different blood type to her parents so then her mother admitted she had had a one night stand with another rock star Gavin Rossdale and he was her real father. Not sure what band he's from, I know he was married to Gwen Stefani!

According to BBC there were 'technical sound problems' on Sat.?
Title: Re: Strictly - 2016
Post by: Scampi on September 05, 2016, 12:25:46 PM
There were CLKD - it went 'crackly' at one point (I thought at first Claudia had lost her microphone in all that dress fabric, but it was all sound, not just her!).  They sorted it quite quickly.

We're looking forward to the series - from the group dance on Saturday there didn't look to be any real 'hoofers'!  Even Ed Balls looked to have a little rhythm and be quite light on his feet - if his partner can sort out his posture (he was a bit 'bum out!!) he might not be too bad ... there's certainly been a lot worse!

Title: Re: Strictly - 2016
Post by: Scampi on September 05, 2016, 02:32:28 PM
Didn't say his was graceful - just has more rhythm and is lighter on his feet than many we've seen in the past!  I can't see him every being graceful, but with some posture training he might not be terrible!  Remains to be seen - we often get surprises in the first few weeks when we see who seems to have potential and who will never be able to dance to save their lives!  Makes it interesting.  :)

Didn't manage to see Saturday's show but do have it on sky plus to watch when I have the house to myself sometime this week hopefully.

I really enjoy strictly but it always makes me a little sad as I know summer is nearly over clocks go back and we have short daylight hours. I really hate getting up in the dark and coming home from work in the dark.

I think it'll probably be Ed Balls out but he wasn't the worst dancer last week but I'm not sure how many people will support him.

I'm like Bramble I liked  Judge Rinder, Greg, and Will, I also like Louise.

I always peek as well Two hoots!

I thought Naga looked great in that wig. What a fabulous figure, can't believe she's 41, I think she looks in her early 30's.

I only know of Judge Rinder as my Mum loves his TV prog but my goodness, he is VERY camp!

I've voted for free on the website, you get three free votes. I've voted for Anastacia as I felt sorry for her that she was injured, voted for Naga and Will.

I won't Vote until later in the programme. There's a reason why the Judge is Camp  :-\ ……. :-\ I thought he did really well.  If he gets rid of the camp-ness, as should Will - all that wrist flopping  ::) - they will be good dancers.

Title: Re: Strictly - 2016

It's all psychology  ::) - if a dancer doesn't do as well with the judges comments even if they appear to have performed better than the previous week, then they are likely to get bounced up the scoring because the public takes pity on them and votes accordingly  ;-).  Anasatsia should have stood down or taken a 'bye', which will probably happen this week  :-\ ……..

We can't find out how the scores are calculated ………..

Title: Re: Strictly - 2016
Post by: Megamind on October 13, 2016, 03:31:00 PM
There is a new article now saying Will didn't get on with his dance partner Karen but I've heard stuff about her before and of course she's married to Kevin Clifton and his family seem to have strong connections to the show!

In regards to Will's anxiety and depression it would appear he has suffered from PTSD and said the following "I was desperately unhappy. Then I got PTSD and got depersonalisation and derealisation which is when your body can't cope with the flooding of emotions from the past.'

Continuing on the difficult time, he said: 'I couldn't see my face in the mirror or recognise family.'

As for Anastasia, I am happy to see her stay in the show as she is giving her fee to a breast cancer charity.

Some of us need to consider  :-X  ::) ……

I am disappointed in the programme thus far.  Is it really the public voting - is there anyway of finding out %s per dancing couple so that there is transparency ?  :-\ ?

Happens year in year out CLKD, the public can be fickle. Like to keep in the least likely contestants at the expense of those who are good.

I honestly did prefer it with Bruce.  Tess Daley on her own I could just about tolerate but I cannot bear Claudia Winklemann and I don't think she brings anything to the show whatsoever.

I was very impressed with Lesley Joseph and she is amazing for her age.

I had hoped that Lesley would go through to at least the semi-finale.

It's definitely a popularity contest.  It was a shame about Lesley, Anton looked gutted. Not mad about Daisy as a person but she is a very good dancer, and didn't deserve to be in the bottom 2.
I like Bruce when the show first started but he lost it towards the end.
I like Claudia but not mad on Tess.

I found the programme a bit flat tonight, none of the dances were memorable apart from Ed.  When the celebrities were announced I really thought Ed would be out by week 2, but he's enjoying himself and it shows. I loved his performance tonight, I didn't expect to say that about a politician  :o

I agree Two Hoots, the silly Halloween theme didn't show any of them up well at all, it was too finicky and trying to choreograph some of the dances with music that loosely fitted the theme must have been a nightmare.  I felt really sorry for Ore, that really wasn't the right music at all for a Charleston.  Do the producers give the professionals the music and tell them to make the best of it do you think?

Ed Balls was hilarious!!

S x
I agree. The Halloween show isn't one of my favourites  either but I did enjoy Ed's performance. Reminded me of a character in a book which we had as kids. His name was Professor Branestawm and he was eccentric.

No I can't take to Danny either, but have to admit his dancing is very good. I tend to watch their feet, rather than whole performance. The minute they said Ed was dancing to Gangnam style, I immediately thought ok they are really taking the Mick now! OK entertaining it may be if you want a laugh, but not ballroom dancing!

Stop the 'fixing' conspiracy theories, it is what it is.  The public vote by phone and 1 can only vote once, when I tried to vote for 2 couples I was told "You have already voted for …… "  ::) - the only way would be to use several mobiles or land-lines.

I knew last night that Claudia and AJ had come to the end, though the dance off was so close!  I would like Danny to win otherwise there'll B tears from both Kevin and his sister - which of course, is another first 4 the Show.

I'm not convinced that Danny's popularity is waning and that's why he was in the dance-off - I think it's more complacency on the part of his supporters!  He's not been in the dance-off for the whole series, and did really well on Saturday night, so I can imagine plenty of people thinking they didn't need to bother voting as he was safe.

I want Ore to win. I hope he does The Jive as his favourite dance.

I hope he repeats his 'singing in the rain' performance. I also want him to win but will unfortunately miss the voting due to being out on Sat evening.

;D
Yet another happy bunny but the announcement was spoilt a little for me. I had paused it while serving up my meal so hadn't yet seen the result when  a friend sent me a text.....   Really enjoyed all his performances.  I want to add the 'dancing' special effects but can't find the option. ;D

Not happy, I'm sick of hearing how he'd never danced before, he took part in comic relief dancing programme and apart from that I found him smug  :hotflash: :steamed:

Very happy.  I wouldn't have minded Louise winning but I do think she plateaued a little in the last couple of weeks.
Couldn't take to Danny, I do think he has danced before and every week  he never thanked the public for voting for him. It was all about him.
But regardless of who was your favourite, Ore danced the best overall last night.

Danny certainly did thank the public, in both the main show and when interviewed by Zoe ;-).  I so wanted him to win  ::) but there really was nowt to choose between them.

The tribute to Len was lovely  :-*

They all deserved to win, but Ore pulled the stops out on Saturday.

Over for another year.  Had hoped that Anton would win  :sigh: - seemed too much of a co-incidence!  I was surprised that Brucie didn't comment on Len leaving  >:(

How about: all the past winners dancing off against each other next Series then finish it.

I think Bruce is still ill.

I wonder if he will be 'next' to pass  :-\ - if not, he could surely have recorded something?

I've never heard of her! I would have preferred Anton or Karen.

I did read though that the replacement's ex husband dated Kristina...she does get about a bit!!

Apparently the replacement was on It Takes 2 one evening and did some of the choreography in 2009.

Wonder if Zoe will be well enough to do her usual It Takes 2 slots  :-\
