Title: Has anyone lost large amounts of white tissue in Urine?
Post by: MIS71MUM on July 04, 2016, 11:07:02 AM
This happened to me this morning! I'm not going to google it but can anyone tell me if this is part of the peri-menopause?  I have had nausea, put it down to having a bug from my children, I have had back on one side, but thought I had pulled it whilst gardening and have had a bit oo lower abdominal pain, but put that down to my HRT causing blotaing which did happen before.
I don't want to scare myself - so any advice would be most welcome!

Sounds like a urine infection I'd go to the doctors in the meantime drinks lots of fluids and paracetamol might help

You need to get this checked out as it does sound like some kind of urinary tract problem especially if you have pain on one side of your back which could be an upper tract infection. You often don't get any of the stinging type of cystitis discomfort with an upper tract problem. You can get pain in one side of the back or in your side which is a bit like a stitch (like you want to stretch to release the pain), feelings of nausea, tiredness and generally unwell feelings.

Could be a kidney stone or kidney gravel. I have this regularly and have passed many over the years. It runs in my family. I would advise a visit to the doctor and try to collect your urine each time in a jug to see if you see evidence of any gravel in there. If you pass a stone it can be tested and then you can change your diet to prevent them. Drink a lot of fluid, this will help as well if it is an infection or stones, and remember stones can cause infections as well as bacteria.

Hi ladies
Thanks for the replies - took my sample in this morning.  The nurse tested it and it showed protein and leukocytes so has forwarded it to the lab.

I've got a prescription for antibiotics as well.

I love drinking water (and wine), and usually have 2 litres a day so will make sure I keep it up over the next couple of days.
