Title: Pre-diabetic testing
Post by: CLKD on June 29, 2016, 09:43:36 PM
Dr Mollesley [sp] BBC1 and on Radio2 with Jeremy Vine was explaining that a pin prick blood test can determine the possibility of someone going on to become TypeII diabetic.

Anyone put their thumb to the test?  I might go into Lloyds and drag Himself along …….. I know he needs to lose some weight  ::)  :-X

my husband is insulin dependant diabetic so we have all the kit at home which i use twice a year on myself ;D

Fasting glucose level overnight should be below 6.1
Glucose level 2 hrs after eating should be below 7.8

Pre diabetes - fasting is 6.1-6.9
2hrs after eating is 7.8 - 11.0

Any figures above the above is full blown diabetes.

So if you are going to chemist during the day make sure its done 2 hrs after a meal.
