Well, it's been 8 days now since upping to 4 pumps, and my God what a transformation! Every day I have felt better and stronger, and this morning was the first time in 3 months that I didn't wake to dread and depression.
I can't tell you how much better I am feeling. The agrophobia has disappeared, the anxiety has totally disappeared, the depression is just a bad memory.
I met friends for coffee this morning, the first time in 3 months and really enjoyed it. I've booked myself a hair appointment, a couple of beauty treatments, an overdue smear, and finalised details to meet friends in London in August.
All stuff which I had been desperately putting off because I just couldn't face the thought of them.
I can't quite believe that all I needed was just an extra pump of estrogel! But within 6 hours of applying that first extra pump I could feel my mood improving. So it can't be a coincidence.

Don't do too much too soon!
Little steps ;)

GRL, that is great news and you really deserve it after all you have been through. That is the beauty of the regime we are both on, you can adjust the dose (with the help of an expert) to suit your needs and sometimes you only need to tweak your dose slightly to get very different results. Long may your improvement continue!
-
Well done GRL...you deserve a break from all the anxiety and depression.
Long may it last.
Btw - whatever happened to the Sandrena gel? And how do you find the utrogestan?
-
So pleased for you GRL long may it last xx
-
Thank you all :)
It just feels so wonderful to just feel normal again.
But, you're very sensible CLKD. I should pace myself, as I am still very much recuperating.
Mis71Mum, I swapped from Sandrena to Estrogel when I went to see Prof Studd back in April.
-
So did he advise that 4 pumps overrides your cycle?
It's great news that things are going so well for you xxx
-
Feet up with G&T then ;)
-
Mis71Mum, not sure? He just said I would benefit from more oestrogen?

Too right CLKD ;)

Hello GypsyRoseLee.
So pleased to hear that you are feeling better!
Your experience demonstrates the effect changing hormones has on behaviour and well being and proves that the menopause can have a powerful impact on some of us, through no fault of our own!
Wishing you well and keep us updated.

I'm starting gel soon as soon as my mirena coil is fitted annoyingly date has been put back for 3 weeks time rather than tomorrow, I hope it's not to painful. Where are you putting your gel on arms or legs?

Hi Smokey. I'm afraid my mood has really crashed again. Whether this is because my period is very slightly overdue, I don't know?
Had period cramps and bloating the last couple of days but no flow, as yet.
Really praying that this is the reason, and that once my period starts my mood will lift again. After nearly 2 weeks of gradually feeling better each day I am devastated to feel like this again.
I apply my gel to the inside of each thigh. 2 pumps each side. I smooth it on in a circular motion for s few seconds then leave it to dry. It dries quickly within 5-10 mins.

It's so frustrating isn't it, feeling better then suddenly feeling rubbish again, I too have period pains and am due period any day, I'm on Mitazapine and am getting muscle pain now too my eyes are so sore and I've hurt my shoulder and arm etc and pain is agonising sometimes went out for meal this evening with my daughter her treat for Father's Day but I didn't feel well to be honest and was glad to get home, I felt sort of spaced out whilst their and it was so hot in their too and I'm normally cold.
My periods seems to make everything worse especially my ms today my legs feel strange, I'm hoping having the coil will stop the bleeding and thus stop my ms symptoms.
I thought I was doing well on the Mitazapine but since increasing to 30mg I've had funny heads but that passed after 3 weeks then I had heavy eyelids sort of sore feeling and now muscle pain I'm 6 weeks in on 30mg now so would have thought any side effects would have disappeared by now, just don't know what to do !
I hope you feel better soon
