Hi
I've been on Evorel 50 for five months now and it's brilliant. I had a TAH kept ovaries two and a half years ago so no prog needed. Symptoms of meno have been horrible and Evorel I love!
Now however two aspects of my liver function test came back very raised and my stools (sorry) are really weird - one day straw coloured the next almost black (no bleeding). I don't know what it will be from one day to the next.
Reading the Evorel leaflet it says this:
Conditions which require monitoring while on oestrogen therapy:
• Disturbances or mild impairment of liver function
Reasons for immediate withdrawal of therapy:
Therapy should be discontinued in case a contra-indication is discovered and in the following situations:
• Jaundice or deterioration in liver function
Has anyone else had this? I'll stop it today if it makes it go away and just put up with the symptoms. Going to see the doc this week though for sure and get it retested.
Many thanks
Krispie

It was a phone call from the doc. Don't know if she had the notes in front of her. She was more interested in how much I drink, which is nothing. I'm going to call tomorrow. Thanks.

impaired liver function can also be part of something called non -alcohol fatty liver syndrome which is often improved by a low carb diet.
