Hi ladies,
I wondered if anyone else has used proctosedyl for piles :(
Had a prolonged bout of constipation recently so now I'm suffering the consequences-and the constipation is still a bit of an issue ( have used movicol for a prescribed period, now using lactulose plus the the usual prunes , figs etc!!)
My query is that the recommendation for uk is not to use it for longer than 7 days.
When I've been googling... I see that the recommendations for USA , Australia are that it can be used for up to 3 weeks!
I don't want to take anything for longer than is safe... but with such different guidance I'm a bit confused. The medication appears to be exactly the same, ingredients, strength etc.
And I could do with using it for longer...as I probably didn't use it properly for the first few days.
Can anyone advise or let me know their experience...
Many thanks x

Thanks Stellajane,
I'll use it for a bit longer.... I'm seeing the GP on Monday and discuss with her too. ( although she's not my favourite GP )
I'll try colpermin too...feeling a bit stressed about the constipation/ piles issue because we have a trip to America planned for the summer.( special one off big family holiday )..I know what jet lag and routine changes do my system!

Thanks for the replies😊
I've seen the GP who said it was okay to use for longer than 7 days.
Feeling better than I did. Fingers crossed.
