Title: Evorel Sequi Newbie Help Needed
Post by: Laney27 on April 14, 2016, 06:43:20 PM
Hi All

Firstly a huge thank you to this site as I found everything I needed to know about the menopause and it certainly influenced my decision regarding HRT.

I have been on Evoril Sequi almost 3 years now and have been very happy with it, particularly with my quality of life and headaches and severe mood swings. Recently i have been bleeding for almost 3 weeks, sometimes very heavy and flooding, othertimes spotting. The pain has almost been unbearable and I feel pressure above my pubic bone as if I have something pressing down on it.

Again after being on here wondered if it maybe fibroids? Off I went to the GP ( who is new to our surgery) to be told must come of HRT immediately as they can't really investigate anything whilst I am still bleeding....imagine my horror, they are going to take away my life saver!! The GP did suggest Prozac as a replacement for the moodswings but to be honest I dont really want to go down that route. I am well overdue a smear test too, which is causing some anxiety but cannot have this until the bleeding stops.
Any advice ladies?? would I be better to come of the HRT to see if the bleeding stops thus further investigations can go ahead? So worried about becoming the bitch from hell again if I do! HELP

Hi Laney - sorry it seems that your post has been missed and we haven't welcomed you!

I would say that although you are worried about coming off HRT for a while it may be the wise thing to do if you are to have investigations. Did the GP mention what tests he is sending you for? It is also important to have your smear test and if it can't be done while you are bleeding then this again may point to the need to stop HRT, hopefully just for a short while, so that this can be done.

Sorry not to be more helpful but I just wanted to welcome you. Someone else will be along soon I'm sure with more advice. In the meantime keep posting.
