Having this fitted tomorrow hopefully! Never had one before and am getting really anxious.
I haven't had any advice, but as it is a 30min appointment I guess it will be for a fitting....so should I take painkillers before I go and will I be ok to drive after?
-
I had mine fitted last week, they recommend taking painkiller before but I didn't find it hurt much. I didn't have any pain after the tablets had worn off either. I also had a biopsy of my womb lining plus internal scan.
I think you'll be fine to drive after, hubby came with me and drove but I could have quite easily driven home.
Don't be anxious, it's really not that bad x

I drove myself. Took an ibuprofen about 30 minutes before the appointment and had absolutely no problems.

I drove myself and didn't need painkillers before or after.

Hi I have been offered mirena too, age 48 peri and periods getting very irregular, seem to miss a month more than not, but still feel like I have signs its coming but it doesn't!
Doctor said a patch as well, at the moment I'm on the fence 😕

I have had mine coming up to 5 weeks now, I use an Estradot 50 patch as well that I started the day after I had it fitted.
Apart from constant spotting, started a week after, I do not seem to have any side effects from the Mirena. I do hope that settles down, but being a bit of a pessimist I am worried it won't!
Any questions, ask away😀

I'm on my 2nd one. Due for a change soon. Not had any problems other than when it starts running out but seen the doc about that and the jury is still out on that one ;D
